    Grainfather Electric Grain Mill

I have one and love it. My best brewing purchase so far, especially compared to my old Bulldog mill which was horrendous! I have a purple scoop that I use to pour my grain into the hopper pretty consistently and it gets through it in no time.

    Grainfather G40

The grain mill is wonderful, probably the best piece of equipment I’ve bought!

Help with a recipe! (previously "keeping it simple")

I have a SMaSH blonde ale fermenting at the moment - pale malt and 50g citra. I also have a single hop session IPA in the kegerator that I plan to tap next week - 225g cashmere, pale malt, vienna, torrefied wheat and oats.

    England manager poll

Graham Potter has been waiting for the England job all summer IMO - that’s the reason he’s turned down Marseille, Ajax and Leicester over the last couple of months.

    Marston's no longer brewing beer

You obviously haven’t read the article because the breweries aren’t closing, they’ve just gone from being 40% owned by Carlsberg to 100% owned by them. Whether they end up ruining the existing beers is another matter, but it doesn’t “end almost 200 years of brewing heritage”.

Some silly questions about brewing “wild” beers

Excellent, thanks! I’ve been really inspired by one of my local breweries (Holy Goat) and Philly Sour just doesn’t hit the same 😂

Some silly questions about brewing “wild” beers

I’m getting a nice stainless steel pressure fermenter for my birthday at the end of the month, which means I’ll have 2 fermenters I probably won’t use. I plan to sell my Fermzilla, but was thinking of using my white plastic fermenter for “sours”. I know I’ll need to keep the fermenter...

    What did you brew today?

I’ve had it in a few commercial hazies but never used it myself, which was one of the reasons I went for it. I also believe it’s less “in your face” than some of the NEIPA hops so should be better with the lower ABV of this brew.

    What did you brew today?

I brew in the utility room, and the iron lives in there!

    What did you brew today?

I did a session hazy yesterday. Single hop cashmere, because I’ve decided I do too many brews with multiple hops that there are some hops where I don’t actually think I know what they taste like

    Who is Taylor Swift

    It’s Epitaph’s Punk-o-Rama 3 that’s my favourite comp.

    Who is Taylor Swift

Folklore is an excellent album. Definitely a massive pleasant surprise back in 2020, and it had me delve into a lot of her back catalogue. I find it quite hit and miss but she’s an excellent songwriter. And this is coming from someone who is primarily into mid-90s skate-punk/punk-rock (for...

    BREW2BOTTLE

It was last year (or maybe even the year before). Then the previous owners bought all the old stock at a knock down price from the administrators/liquidators and started trading again as if nothing had happened.

    Labels Off

I hate to be “that guy”, but Sierra Nevada is an APA rather than a West Coast IPA which might have something to do with it finishing last, especially if you were also ranking on whether you thought they were true to style.

LAB Open 2024 - Fesitval & BOS Sunday 19 May

Wow, 42 for the witbier! Absolutely delighted with that! I usually go in for competitions saying if I score above 30 I’m happy and anything else is a bonus. 30, 32 and 42 so I’m pretty chuffed (and shows that I actually can bottle a NEIPA from keg without it oxidising - it was only about 4th...

LAB Open 2024 - Fesitval & BOS Sunday 19 May

Picked up 3rd for my witbier this year, after a 4th and an HM in 2022 and 2023. Delighted with that, although surprised it was a Belgian and French ales category as the last 2 years was “wheats and Farmhouse”

    Lagering my homebrew

Before my kegging days I used to regularly bottle condition lagers after lagering and they were fine. I believe it doesn’t take much yeast in suspension to allow carbonation.

LAB Open 2024 - Fesitval & BOS Sunday 19 May

I sent mine today. I had guestimated the weight of my parcel on Sunday based on 3 full bottles I had in the fridge so I could print the Parcelfarce label at work yesterday and do my counter pressure filling last night. I guessed 8kg. Actual weight per post office scales 7.954kg

    TETB’s Brewdays

We have a Kenwood Mini Chopper which is like a mini food-processor which I used previously. For my latest witbier I went out and bought a pestle and mortar to see if it made any improvement. Hard to tell so far but I’ve only had 2 pints of it.
