I blame the Malt Miller and their you tube content. If I had the dosh I'd be straight into either the latest GF or Brewzilla both have these new fangled false bottoms and cool malt tubes. I can live without thr malt tube but the false bottom looked cool. I also use one of those kegland long...

Will report back but my next brew will be a citra apa with maris and pilsner malt. I'm using whole hops instead of t90. I tried hop spider but I really want to just throw the hops in to get the best utilisation.

Like you just started using a plate chiller wow they are amazingly efficient. I just use gravity rather than pumped. I clamp mine underneath my workbench and use short bits of silicone hose. No the whirlpool doesn't fit but if you look on ali kegland make an extenstion which was a few quid...

See pic two neil. The legs it comes with are only 20mm so the item as made fouls the drain valve. The nuts and bolts are used to raise it enough the clear the drain assembly. The grain basket still goes in ok and doesn't foul the FB at all.

I've no idea. Could find a sticky bead it it. But I'd imagine the silicone will be fine. Will try and get the sticky bead out if I can as it isn't needed.

    What would you brew?

So after a few brews I have some left overs and wondered if there is anything brewable with minimal additions. So far I have. 2.3kg of Maris Otter 500g caramalt 300g ish of chocolate 80g of eask Kent Golding pellets 20g fuggles. I am aware I will need some more base malt. Looking for a 19l...

    Plate chiller?

Thanks. All So I use hop spider for additions and have just ordered the kegland helix to go in the bottom of the aio. Hopefully this will keep hop gunk out and the cleaning regime of cleaner water oven to 200 degrees C for 90 mins and then starsan just before use will do the job.

    Plate chiller?

Yes you are correct. I just found that on the PBW website. Don't know why I didn't find that last night. I ran hot water through it for over an hour last night after pbw so I'm happy it's been cleaned. Roll on the next brewday when I can try it out!!

    Plate chiller?

I can't do no chill due to time. So I picked up this from a guy that used to work in a brewery for a bargain. I ran a caustic soda solution through it both ways for about 45 mins yesterday and then followed by a water flush then pbw for 45 mins followed by a hot water flush. I will stick...

Grainfather S40 - Mistake? Shall I return and get something else?

My Klarstein AIO says not to use the pump above 80 degrees so I don't but this will still sanitise. When I used a home made counterflow. I always used to run star San through it and then the first run off of 80 degree wort circulated without water. I've got a vevor pump that I think is rated...

    Plate chiller?

Thinking of going for a plate chiller. Question is for 20l brews what size do I actually need. How many plate. Thanks.

Conniston Bluebird Clone but with Kveik opshaug.

Tried it again last night and the marmite is not as prominent and bitterness coming through. Tbh I used Kviek as a bit of fun / experiment. Think given time it might be a decent beer. It can't remember exactly but we started at about 1.030 ish. If I was truly cloning Conniston I would have...

Conniston Bluebird Clone but with Kveik opshaug.

So I thought I'd go for a basic brew and used 3kg Maris Otter 170g caramalt and 100g challenger hops 25g at 60 25g at 15 and 50g for a 15 min hop stand. Fermentation was using one whitelabs wlp518 which I have made a starter. Pressure fermented after 24 hours at 10 psi Anyway fermentation was...
