    DIY all grain equipment checklist

The ones I used, linked in my thread, are these - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-32-L-Ltr-Litre-Plastic-Bucket-with-Lid-Heavy-duty-bucket-/222145994026?hash=item33b8eedd2a&clk_rvr_id=1345375237559&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true £22 for 3 of them, they came very quickly too.

    All Grain Starter Equipment

I just linked here from another thread an realised the wort chiller in particular wasn't the way I would do it now, so I thought I should update. So I ended up using two tap connectors screwed onto these. To do this I had to solder on some 15mm pipe by way of a reducer, but I already had all...

    DIY all grain equipment checklist

Take a look at my thread where I built a similar setup to what I think you're after. http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=67730 It has had a few upgrades since then but it's still going strong. Pictures of stuff start on page 3, have a scan to see if it is on the right track.

Corny Keg Pressure - So much head !

Bought 3 of these for serving from kegs at my upcoming wedding. https://www.kegkingdom.co.uk/products/mobile-party-tap-1 Similar to the MM one but comes with more line and the JG fitting and disconnect, for less money (don't forget the 10% code). Gave it a try with a chilled keg with the...

    Sampling / Syphon Starting Syringe

Turkey baster from Wilko's was what I was going to buy for taking samples, but they were out of stock when I went, so I bought the syringe online. Starting a syphon with it is so so easy I am glad I have it.

    Sampling / Syphon Starting Syringe

I was just reading a post about someone wanting to buy an auto-syphon and I thought maybe I should share the best £1.99 I have spent recently on homebrew equipment. Ages ago I bought one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013QO8MKQ/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 - Took a...

    Pid

I've got an Inkbird ITC100VH which looks identical to the one Steve posted. Use it for controlling the HLT temperature currently and it is great, keeps the temperature within 0.1c so I can faff around setting everything up and then have the water at strike temperature when I am ready, not...

    The homebrew company kettles

I have the converted Igloo, from the same place, works great. Was planning on DIYing everything at the beginning but went to the shop for grain and to buy things like a capper and got talked into the simplicity of buying over making, by my girlfriend. Probably could have saved £20 buy...

    Crowd Pleaser Under 4.5%

So, I am planning on brewing this tomorrow, just started setting things up and realised I don't have the Extra Dark Crystal or the S-04 the recipe calls for! Admin fail... Not really desperate for a 50 minute round trip to the brew shop tomorrow, so how do these changes look? I have...

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Cool, will do. I saw you went pretty high on the Calcium Chloride on your last NEIPA attempt, was that based on your water or something I should consider?

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Last time I did 0.1g/l of Calcium Chloride based on your recommendation for my water. However didn't know the alkalinity at the time, I do have a testing kit for that now (which I have yet to use) so I could get that value if you thought it would be useful to make additional adjustments.

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Interesting, I thought the hope flavour/aroma was alright in the last recipe but I have to admit that I have never tried a commercial example of the style. I probably also have lower expectations than you! I will up the hops, I have 100g of each of the varieties mentioned in the recipe that I...

    AG49 Vermont IPA

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I was hoping for a bit of advice and this seemed like the most logical place to ask it rather than starting a new thread. I brewed a version of this recipe and it turned out nicely, not perfect, but pretty good. I am getting married in a month's time and I...

    Crowd Pleaser Under 4.5%

Thanks for all the replies, I think it has to be a bitter. I have found the following recipe on another forum (link is on the recipe, didn't want to link directly to another forum here), it seems well reviewed but is a 'Strong' at ~5% whereas I would like to tone it down to 'Best' territory...

    Crowd Pleaser Under 4.5%

I am brewing for my wedding, which is just over a month away. I am brewing 3 beers, 2 of which I have decided upon (a NEIPA and a American Pale), I am in need of a 3rd. This one is mainly to please the traditional ale drinkers amongst our guests. I am looking for something that is distinctive...

    Underletting

For me, the most annoying part about the all grain brewing process is doughing-in. I would add the required amount of strike water to the mash tun and then get SWMBO to pour grain while I stirred. It took ages, having to add things slowly enough to not get dough balls and it covered everything...

    The down the sink thread

The last beer I made was an NEIPA, it was my first time kegging. I filled a full keg and planned to bottle the remaining few litres, but didn't have any sanitised bottles to hand so left it on the yeast a couple of days. When I came back it smelt like vinegar so I chucked it (probably 2 litres...

    Build your own stackable crates?

Very confused about what happened there, I'm sure I pasted the link, which makes it even stranger, pretty sure I've never read that honey thread before... Here it is, checked and double checked this time!

    Corny tap/reg recommendations

I think the Intertap v2 faucets have a relatively low cost swappable part to go from ale to stout. They are pricey though. I just got started with the double regulator from AngelHomebrew, can't pass judgement on it yet though as I only set it up yesterday.

Serious Corny keg advice needed pls

Cool, congrats and good luck. I'm not until mid October so got a bit of time. Just kegged my first beer on Monday and burst carbed it yesterday. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow, everything I have tasted of it so far has me pretty excited about it. Some adventurous styles there, I think I...
