What are you drinking tonight 2024.

A mate called round for a few impromptu pints and I just had to try my recently kegged hazelnut brown nectar ale. Only kegged it two days ago and gave it a burst carb but this is a lovely beer. A big thank you to @Sorcerers Apprentice for giving me a steer with the hazelnut extract and water...

Fermenting under pressure with 70/30 gas

No worries. Unfortunately, I don't think using nitro during fermentation is a viable option. I presume this was an idea to cut down on the length of time it takes 70/30 gas to carb a keg?

Fermenting under pressure with 70/30 gas

If you carb your beer whilst it is in the FV, you will have too much co2 in solution when you hook up your bottle of 70/30 gas. In other words, you won't create a beer with a 70/30 split of gas. And the result of that will be a very different looking pint to what you are expecting. I made a...

    Collaborative Brew Schedule - 2024

I've jumped the gun on a couple of these. Already drinking the Cali common and the American brown is in the FV. Just couldn't help myself. Took a notion for both and ran with it.

Sold 3 x iffy condition tall Corny Kegs

I'd take 'em, if you could post. Can't collect in person.

    ispindle Problem.

This might not be an issue with anyone else but I use a 23L corny as my FV. The keg acts like a faraday cage and therefore the signal, every 900 seconds, doesn't always make it out. If I place it beside the broadband hub, I get the updates nearly every time. I am not massively concerned by this...

While the wife is away, the boys will play. That keg of Anchor Steam is already feeling a bit light FFS. How do these things happen? 😆

Pours great. Like a perfect pour from start to finish. No dicking around.

Tapped this way too early but I am an impatient man. From memory, this is pretty close to the original taste. I'm actually very happy with how this lager (my first AG lager) turned out.

    ispindle Problem.

How do you go about doing that? Because from what I have been looking at, it isn't immediately obvious.

    What hops in Cobra Lager

You could try some of the recipes, if they exist, on sites like brewer's friend etc. Then try and find one that has been brewed a few times or has comments to its success/fail. I'd love to get a proper recipe for Moosehead lager. Their website claims they only use Canadian 2-row in the grain...

It's the time and effort that is the boot in the balls for me, when that happens.

Awesome, dude. I will check that out later. Thanks.

Can you guess what went wrong?

Interesting. So I definitely had an infected batch because it kept producing co2. But the second time, a couple of months later, I didn’t. But the taste was almost identical. I must have read through every beer fault known to man but could not find one that accurately reflected what I was...

    ispindle Problem.

Not quite off topic but has anyone had any joy adjusting the device when you know it is x amount of gravity points out? Mine seems to be 5 points over, as in when 25c water, it reads 1.005. I tried messing around with the algorithm but that did nothing. I cannot be bothered recalibrating the...

But do all infections produce co2, absolutely all of the time? Or is there another reason why an infection would lower the gravity?
