Just to note - The brew has been kept at 20-21 degrees for the duration. The only thing that has changed is I took a sample for gravity on day 10 via the tap - so unless this has caused oxygen to get in. Hopefully once i bottle tomorrow I will get my lager back :) might just have to condition...

So I have just took my 3rd gravity reading from Geordie lager bew. Day 12. Gravity has gone from OG 1.038 down to 1.003. First time a took the gravity it tasted like lager now on the 3rd taste I am getting the Acetaldehyde flavour - apples / cider taste Is my brew ruined?

I have just tested about 5, with the original caps with Lemonade. Took a little bit of time to get some of the on but once on they seems to hold the pressure. Obviously if you have other options that may be better go for that but if you dont have any spare bottles etc worth giving it a try.

How did you get on with the bud bottles? I have 20 over from Xmas with all the original caps - did you manage to get good carbonation? I seem to get a good seal on the bottle when i have done a test run with water

Yes Lovebrewing I think its called - If I wasn't ordering a great deal I think this would work out cheaper to go here but I think postage is more expensive. Plus am sure they will be shut due to covid restrictions atm

Weaker in what sense? when you replace the twist cap? or if you try to crown cap?

Can you re-use twist caps? off bud bottles? i saved a load of xmas but now I have seen this maybe they are best for recycling?
