What can you buy that's made in Britain

That closure is "due to global changes in the car industry and the need to launch electric vehicles ", as Honda says. They are moving production to Japan. They don't really class as British under your previous definition! Yes, it's a pity they're closing it. Perhaps "global changes" might allow...

What can you buy that's made in Britain

Oh dear, that maked it much more difficult! By the way, does "British" include all the UK, and any overseas territories, or just England (or England, Scotland, Wales) So. British owned businesses only. Businesses paying tax in the UK. Factories in Britain (staffed by British people?). Using...

Ban on new petrol and diesel cars in UK from 2030 under PM's green plan

Best get that before y2030 then! They won't be available then either, AFAIK.

    My biggest regret.

I don't know who he is, but I bet he's glad he wasn't named "William".

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

I are do be drinking a bottel of Tesco's "Crofter's" cider, an Aston Manor brew of some sort, cheap, though much nice than similar cheap ciders incliuding muck like Thatcher's Gold, eurgh. I am doing this because it comes free with a 2L PET screwtop, which I want, to bottle my own cider. I am...

A bar billiards table does not need much room.

Crib's good. Used to play table skittles, an "antique" table with skittles and cheeses went on eBay for £500+, don't often see tham, could make one I think. I have nearly been sharked at shove ha'penny, but that was a while ago.

    Newquay Steam Bitter

Coincidentally, I have today found some old bottles. Attached pics for your enjoyment! I remember drinking this stuff, it was my favourite. Deep, dark, dark-tasting, sticky and strong. Well, those cropped pics have not come out well, still the bottles look reusable. Edit: Someone on eBay wants...

    My biggest regret.

So that wasn't in the 1920s, then? "I regret not having a motorcycle development thread here" :) to keep on-topic (although there are many similar all over the 'net).

    Marmite and....

Strawberry jam, or cheese on top of marmite, toasted. Actually toasting Marmite, thickly smeared on toast, gives a fantastic taste. If you're perverted enough to like marmite with honey, perhaps you'd like glodden syrup on your toad-in-the-hole, which is also excellent!

    My biggest regret.

Hm, I think that might be rather late. The first shaftie might have been the FN Four (1905). I've got an old Russian, which is shaft drive, from 1973 I think. The Russians used a previous '30s German design for that one. I regret not having my Russian on the road right now!

What can you buy that's made in Britain

There seem to be various places advising on such things. Try for example: https://makeitbritish.co.uk/made-in-britain/ "Make it British supports a community of UK-made brands. Founded by Kate Hills in 2011, Make it British promotes amazing British-made brands and helps businesses get their...

What can you buy that's made in Britain

It comes down to money, I think. Look at the wages paid in various places globally. Chap mentioned a parka jacket from Bangladesh. The average monthly wage there is about £120. Here in the UK, it's about £2,600 (over a 20x differential, source: worlddata.info). Edit: Here you are, since I've...

Would you still vote for Brexit?

Now, now, steady on, behave yourself, please. I did ask you, for discussion, and I did not want just some old reference to a link to whatever, which is insufficient. It is good that you have now (sort-of) said you were alluding to Mr Dyson's move of Dyson HQ to Singapore, which the eu has a...

I was commenting on your chart.

Would you still vote for Brexit?

Sorry, I think I've missed the answers to the questions. Mr Dyson relocated something (what?) but not to the eu. Why? What operations did Mr Dyson relocate, precisely? Was it his headquarters, his manufacturing, or what? I wanted you to tell me, since you brought it up, not refer me to some old...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

So basically, in all but the most extreme and uncertain circumstances, everything that the various governments have done has helped.

Would you still vote for Brexit?

Why is it that some people seem to be assuming that if there's "no deal", then all trade and interaction will abruptly cease?

Would you still vote for Brexit?

Oh dear, so it wasn't to the eu! I do wonder why? What operations did Mr Dyson relocate, precisely? Was it his headquarters, his manufacturing, or what?
