Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

I don't mind you asking at all but you may have more expensive tastes than me! Total including shipping was Euros 58.33 which Paypal converted to £54.97 (I've not yet tried any of the cheaper Euro payment methods suggested by others earlier in this thread. My box was a mixture of 500ml and...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Just a quick update on buying from Biermarket.de It's still quite a painful process but at least it has got cheaper! For my most recent order I tried their new way of sending an order by clicking a button to send a screenshot of the shopping cart. When I had no response for over a week I...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Thanks to the generosity of many people (some from this forum, special thanks to the generous anonymous donor from here yesterday!) dad has now gone through his revised target of £500 so has revised it upwards to £750. He has now walked 26 times (on 23 days so sometimes walks more than once a...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Dad is now up to £430 towards his revised target of £500 (Which I think he will soon revise upwards) and he was very excited to see that justgiving put a link to his effort on their Captain Tom page. It's incredible to think that dad was literally at death's door a few weeks ago and is now doing...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Dad's gone now through his original target of £250 (He's now raised £300) so has now increased his target to £500 Thank you to those forum members that have contributed, it really motivates him when he sees donations from outside the family. Also a big thank you to the admins for allowing this...

Asking for some donations for my Dad's fundraising efforts

Hi All, First I want to make it clear I have asked the admins and they have given me permission to post this. I nearly lost my 90 year old dad a few weeks ago but he made a remarkable recovery and is now back home from hospital but very weak and a bit depressed. To pick himself up and help...

Fermenting fridge - is this OK?

I've recently totally changed my views on using 'fridge glass shelves to support 23litre FVs...............I've been happily using my fermenting 'fridge with two fermenters, the bottom one supported on a wooden shelf above the compressor (where the salad drawer usually fits) and the second one...

    Old Burco boiler for BIAB

I use one of these (with an electronic temperature controller) as a pasteuriser for my home made apple juice, holds about 16 500ml bottles. (Made a wooden trivet so the bottles don't sit directly on the base)

Recommended tube heaters for fermenting fridge

I bought my heater online from Superlec Direct.....I wanted one without the integral thermostat as one of my fridges is too narrow for the type with thermostat. If you are going through the drain hole (I do that ) make sure the cable dips into the evaporating tray on top of the compressor...

Shop bought beer in a Swing top bottle

Thought I'd report back on my recent experiences of dealing again with both Biermarket.de and web-bier. The bottom line is I'm happy to deal with either but there is a very significant difference between them in the time between placing an order and receiving the beer. Both companies have a...

Fermenting fridge - is this OK?

I bought my heater online from Superlec Direct.....I wanted one without the integral thermostat as one of my fridges is too narrow for the type with thermostat. Rather than drilling the fridge I routed the cables through the drain hole. I found (on both of my fridges) that the drain hole inside...

Advice needed to re-create "David's Beer"

I’ve recently returned to home brewing after a long absence and have only used kits so far. I want to re-create a family beer recipe that has not been brewed for about 40 years and as a novice I’m having trouble interpreting some parts of the recipe. (There is a mixture of imperial and metric...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Oak Aged Imperial Vanilla Stout from Sweden. This was 45 minutes of pure slow-sipping pleasure. Eye-wateringly expensive but worth every penny and I may have to go back for another couple. (One for me and one for my daughter)
