    John Bull IPA Review

I've done a few JB IPA's (back when I was a Tesco Raider). Looking at what you've done with this I'm thinking that this will be a very drinkable beer. If I remember correctly they can be very good very early but of course get a lot better over time. Here's what I have did with one of these a...

Unpacked the shopping, the next half dozen

I'd just bottled the first brew using the S04 and wanted to get another 2 or 3 brews out of it. Also, the I'd just bottled the first brew using the S04 and wanted to get another 2 or 3 brews out of it. Also, the reviews didn't say one way or the other with regards to the kit yeast so I opted...

Help me plan my first brews (please)

You could grab a Woodfordes Wherry and a Gervin yeast out of Wilko and brew just one tin with half of the yeast to 10L. A Citra hop tea with that would give you a very nice beer.

2 x poor carbonation, same yeast

Over the winter I was leaving my just bottled crate by the rad because my bottles weren't carbing. The temps over the next few days should help.

    It's all Munton's

I had three kits out of the Muntons Connoisseur range lately, the Wheat, Traditional Bitter and their Irish Style Stout. The Tradional Bitter was a year out of date (their first email back to me offered me advice on how to brew it and a £5 gift code. Their second mail back was quite curt...

Unpacked the shopping, the next half dozen

Pete I've used First Gold and UK Cascade quite recently and liked them both. The next time I'm shopping I'll get some EKG and try it as an addition to dark ale and then something very light to see what it's like both ends of the scale.

If I fire up my old FV in the shed I could turn that lot over in 6 weeks, 240 pints....very tempting.

I did a couple of 23L BIAB's that turned out well enough for my first couple of go's. I found them to be very long days bottling and brewing and as I'm doing it in the kitchen it's not practical tying it up for the day. I can turn the whole thing over, bottling and brewing from start to...

    What are you drinking tonight.

A mate brought me this back from a trip to the York Brewery. At 7.5% I'd call it a sipping stout and it's gorgeous, really nice. According to the bumf, 6 different malt with Northdown and Phoenix hops. I wouldn't have it as a Friday or Saturday night beer when I'm going to town on them but like...

    Madaleine McCann

The thought of me and MrsF. going out on the lash and leaving our kids on their own at home never once crossed our minds from our first being born in 95 to our twins being 12 in 2014. And that's us being at home let alone being abroad, there's always been something just not right about this and...

As of late I've been turning a brew around about every 3 weeks, so that lot should be about 4 months or so. Saying that though, the lagers are very popular with visitors so we'll see how it goes.
