Suitable hops for English and American ales

Oh and also I only use fuggles, goldings, EKG and occasionally Styrian Goldings. I don't like high alpha hops but a little citra at the end can be very pleasant! !!

Suitable hops for English and American ales

I like a copper English bitter but I have a recipe (self created) that uses a little citra at the end of the boil and works brilliantly.

    Nottingham Brewers

Hi, I have been AG brewing since the end of December but not brewed for a while. Does anyone local fancy a joint brew day? Kits/ag brewers alike of course would just be nice to share the experience and/or pick up a few tips. I haven't brewed for a couple of months and I've run out of brew...?

    Newbie mash efficiency problems... HELP!!!

Sorry for the extreme lateness of this but the homebrew store/shop sent me a replacement cool box (minus tap and fittings) plus a free mash kit and new thermometer (which I won't use because I own a thermapen) but f*cling fair play to them although they were sceptical they read the thread and...

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

Hiya mate, Sorry for the lateness of this reply but you should always wait until fermentation has stopped. This one does go down quite low but while it's bubbling, LEAVE IT. When the hydrometer reding is the same for 2 to 3 days you are ready for bottling/kegging. Even then you have at LEAST...

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

you shouldnt get any difference in priming between the two sugars. If anything granulated sugar will take longer to prime because the yeast has to break it down into fermentable sugar where as brewing sugar is already fermentable and available for the yeast to eat straight away...

    Wilko's Own Brand Cerveza.

This is the only lager i did. I made to 40 pints and used a kilo of LME and 500g brewing sugar. While it was o.k. i wont make it again. I only made it for a home brew party for lager drinking friends but they all drank the turbo cider and the real ale. Adding more sugar might make it a bit more...

Well, i pitch strike water at 76c, and added like 500ml of cold water after doughing in to get the temperature to 66.1c. after 90 minute mash i was getting a reading on the thermapen of 60.2c. This is the mash tun i have... http://www.thebrewshop.com/contents/media/l_deluxe_mash_tun.jpg In...

    Lets talk hops

I'm quite lucky really. SWMBO bought me my equipment for my birthday, and i don't work weekends so i have been spending every saturday brewing a batch and bottling another. I'm sure this won't be allowed to continue but i pretty much stopped making batches to cover batches that got drunk in...
