    Moving up a level

Thank you again everyone. I’ve decided to try a part grain kit after a few mentioned it. I had never realised there were more than one type of kit! I just assumed they call came in a can that you heat, so maybe in my original post that wasn’t clear but now i know! Maybe after a few part grains i...

    Moving up a level

Thank you for the reply! I guess i found the turbo cider much more interesting than heating a can and adding water, now that I think about it it’s not all the much different but it felt more personal. What is partial mash??

    Moving up a level

Hello, I am thinking I would like to progress in my beer brewing... So I would like to know which direction you would advise I go in. I have done 5 brews within the last couple of years (yes i know, not many). 2 Mexican style kits, my first, 1 pilsner kit and 2 turbo ciders which was a recipe...

Help with finding a turbo cider recipe

Would anyone know if missing the priming stage would lower the alcohol volume? Or is that all done before priming? I still don’t fully understand the alcohol part of brewing haha

Help with finding a turbo cider recipe

I had seen this but was not sure how recommended it was or it would just be fizzy. Missing the last stage would solve that issue though! So thanks :)

Help with finding a turbo cider recipe

Hi all, i’ve made 2 beer kits previously and now want to try a simple cider. I don’t like fizzy ciders very much, i prefer a scrumpy type. So my main question is, what’s the best turbo recipe for me to follow that is on this site? I don’t want anything too overly complicated as I’m still...

Hydrometer reading much higher than expected. What now?

I’ll be honest, probably not. This is my second time making beer and its just a smidge higher than it should be, i was just searching to see what people’s solutions were and wondered how the OP got on... I’m sure mine will be fine in a few days (it recommended 5-10 days and i’m only on day...

Hydrometer reading much higher than expected. What now?

Hey, this post is super old but what was the out come in the end? Was it fine after a few days? Did it require another stir?

    Beer enhanced and brewing sugar?

I recently purchased a young's pilsner kit after seeing a few good words about it on here and I also got some beer enhancer. Today it has arrived and after looking at the instructions online I notice I need 1.5kg of sugar/enhancer. I only have 1kg of enhancer, my mistake, but have some left...

    Hello!

I have the caps which are semi attached to the bottles via a metal hinge? If that helps The final gravity was 1008 I believe, which my instructions said was correct

    Hello!

Patch prime? Is this where it gets added in a pressure barrel? I don’t have a pressure barrel if that is the case. Or are you adding sugar to the whole lot then bottling? :)

    Hello!

Glass bottles with the caps attached (they don’t require a bottle capping device i just push the metal down) I think they are supposed to sit for 2 weeks , 2 days in warm and the rest in cool. I’m not going to be able to drink 40 pints in a matter of days so they will sit for a few extra weeks...

    Hello!

Thanks! I am taking a ready on the gravity before bottling so as far as i’m aware it has finish the required fermentation process. It’s not overly hazy just not as clear as a pint would be had it come from a pub. Or is this normal? Does hazyness even matter or is it just cosmetic? Also i got my...
