Do I need a fermentation fridge?

That Video was the one that convinced me of how easy it was to make a fermentation fridge, and i now have two, one for conditioning bottles etc and one for fermenting which has allowed me to increase homebrew productionclapa

First All grain brew in Brew Devil & Fermzilla

Hi Paul1084, in answer to your question, yes remove the malt pipe before adding the water to the wort. Yes i thought 7.85L was a lot but i did measure it out, i think most people round it up to 8.0L. The problem i had with sparging was that i didn't have a sparge arm/equipment etc so i put some...

First All grain brew in Brew Devil & Fermzilla

Hi Paul1084, I've done 15 AG brews on my 30Ltr Brewdevil. Sadly I will only be able to answer parts of your first question, as I don't ferment under pressure. Firstly have you read any books on home brew, a good starting point is the Greg Hughes book " Home Brew Beer" it covers all the basics of...

    First Wort Hops

Hi All, recently purchased an AG Kit for an American West Coast Pale Ale, which has some great hops etc, however the recipe has a small amount of Magnum hops which it states are for the First Wort Hops. Read up about this but was not 100% sure I understood what was required, do I add them to the...

    foxbat's brewdays

That recipe looks pretty good. I've done 8 AG brews so far, and they have mostly been pale ales etc. I've just done a Pale Ale that only had Galaxy hops for bittering and dry hopping. its almost ready for bottling etc. In your recipe you've used lactic acid in the mash, just as a matter of...

Stout & Porter Sugar For Bottle Priming

Having done 9 AG brews so far, with the majority being pale ales or bitters, I am now moving on to stouts and porters for the winter months. When bottling either stout or porter has anybody used muscovado sugar or dark brown sugar for priming. Does anybody know if I were to use these sugars what...

Red Brick Rye/Amber Ale Water Additions

Hi All, Have done 8 AG brews so far since starting in Feb using the all in one Angelhomebrew equipment. For my water treatment additions have been using the calculator on the home page of this forum, this has worked fine so far with some really good results for pale ales, but my next brew will...

A kit similar to Timothy Taylor Landlord?

Malt Miller do a couple of AG kits based on Landlord, have only tried one but IMO was pretty good, worth doing.

AG Brew No.3 Session Pale Ale

Hi Tom, sorry for not replying sooner. Both kits turned out ok, but the recipe instructions were not correct, it might have been a case of a typing mistake on the paperwork etc, they also had instructions for sparging which i didn't do, just did full mash after updating the recipe instructions...
