When transferred to second fv does the airlock hole get bunged?

Hi all, when you put your beer into a second FV does the airlock go back in? I'm new to this.

Thanks,can get help for that part.Think I'll use bottling bucket with this brew, first one so want it to be as good as can get it. Also have water proof cover for table and floor,no mistakes about wrath of wife .

New to forums and homebrew and a bit technophobe.

Cheers Magnus, never gave it a thought to prime that way.Think will prime bottles first and bottle straight from fv,like you say more cleaning to do other way

I'm brewing a blonde beer and says to transfer from brew bucket to another for bottling.After watching a few videos of other beer brewing they bottle straight from brew bucket.Just wondering why it says to transfer to another bucket for bottling?

Thanks Richard, water temp bang on so feel better about it now.Heard about long and short brews but wasn't sure how much long can go before very low alcohol. First lesson learned,don't get distracted .

Meant to say first reading was 1064 then took a second reading and not even showing 1000.Yeast in and now airlock bubbling away nicely.

Hi all just signed up to site. Started a Brewferm Wit bier kit yesterday,my first kit.15ltr kit but through my lack of attention is now a 17ltr kit. Does anyone know if this is now ruined or just going to be a really weak beer?
