You’re stuck in quarantine with only one flavour of crisps

Well if all else fails - you could make a crisp butte, nice with a slice of ham or cheese or pate :laugh8:

They will all be sobbing in their steins and watering down their Schwienshaxe with tears :beer1:

If I remember rightly I'm sure I read that the level of crime went up during the Blitz so I'm not surprised (but also angered) by this

Thanks Chippy, I've always used the small 'pocket size' ones from Aldi or Lidl 60/70p before as I sail model boats in a pond frequented by waterfowl, so washed then sanitized my hands in our clubhouse after sailing. That little hobby has gone down the plughole for the foreseeable future!

Did not say Chippy, as they are on reduced hours and closed till 2pm I could not find out.

    The Coronavirus thread.

Went for a walk this morning, and to do some shopping, everywhere was quiet. On the way back I passed my local pharmacy - sign in the window saying 'we now have hand sanitiser £3.99 a pop, max sale of 2' When this is all over there will need to be 'a reckoning' with the rip off buggers who are...

Wheat Beer - Corriander & Orange Peel

Most of the flavour in Weiss Beer is from the yeast, malts & water used, not from any additions. Orange peel and coriander are found in Belgian Whit beers. I've brewed both, with a fair measure of success. My only problem is that, given time, they all drop crystal clear! even when in the fridge...

    Storm Ciara

We also had a couple of hours of sun here in Central Manchester, followed by the fiercest hailstorm I've ever seen, but getting quieter now.

Mangrove Jack French Saison yeast - What should it taste like?

The best Saison I ever made was with yeast cultivated from a bottle of DE GLAZEN TOREN, SAISON D'ERPE-MERE 75 CL http://www.glazentoren.be/index.php/en/ Took about 2 weeks to make enough yeast for a 22 lit. batch, but well worth the effort. Forgot to crop any yeast during fermentation so...

It seems from the many replies to this subject that a lot of us are becoming flexitarians in our diet, I've done so now for about two years and I do feel better for it, I still enjoy my meat though, but just not so much of it and not so often. Happy New Year folks !

    Boddingtons Bitter clone

I lived in Longsight in the 60s & 70s, and yes Boddies was OK then, but mostly drank in The Red Lion - Didsbury - ('cos it was a good place to meet girls) Remember we all shed tears of sorrow when the (Marsdons) beer went up to 2/6 a pint. Mind you £2 would get a belly full of beer a packet of...

    The good old days.

Many years ago (70s) I was privileged to spend the better part of a shift in a Notts. mine thanks to the NCB, NUM and a friend who worked in the mine I came away with massive, massive respect for the miners and the job they did. As for Thatcher and the way she treated them I find mere words are...
