    Mash tun

And mine also, but I use a home made mash bag inside and a small S.S. sieve over the tap to keep the bag from the outflow, never had a stuck mash or any problems and get up to 72% efficiency. It's also a good idea to lag the outside of the tun with a camping / yoga mat ( £5 from supermarkets ) I...

Brewdog unveil location of new bar, but forget one thing...

They should do well in St.Andrews, with all the students & visitors etc. Years ago when I used to holiday there was only the Central Bar in North street worth visiting, went back 3 years ago and the place is bursting with bars and restaurants now. Cheers

Keggers: do you force or natural carbonate?

I also can only use my corny kegs at room temp. I use about 35grm. of white sugar per keg, pressure up to seal the keg, purge the keg of air then let it sit at 5 to 8lbs of pressure - after a week it's good to drink. Cheers

Making a bread from beer yeast and spent grain

I have an old Aldi bread maker (6 to 7 years old) It made bread OK but not as good as I wanted...... Until I started to use it for kneading the dough only, 1 hour 30 min. programme, then knocking the dough back and letting it raise on a tray for 1 hour then bake in a hot oven 25 to 30 min. Now...

    Died in service.

Managed to part melt the plug on my Peco boiler on my previous brew! (12th brew} Got a new heavy duty plug from Clas Olson, wired that up and brewed again this morning, lagged the Peco with a £5 camping mat from Tesco also - I've just had the best rolling boil yet with it, and the plug only got...

    My local hospital

There's a lot in what you say, the NHS would not survive without the dedication of the staff from home and abroad. I had the privilege of working alongside many hospitals for 35 years as a supplier of X-Ray film to them. My good wishes for a speedy recovery to you! Cheers

    Life after PECO ?

Ta for that foxbat, but the lead from the mains is fine into the Peco digital control box, it's the plug that's the problem. Cheers

    Life after PECO ?

Just done my 12th or 13th brew on my digital Peco, I use a separate mash tun but use the Peco to heat the strike water etc. Now have noticed the fuse cover on the mains plug has melted a bit and the plug was getting very hot during the boil. I think I'll replace the plug before the next use just...
