I'm sure in Victoria that is the biggest worry. I worry right now who AFL fans hate most. Collingwood or Covid 19 Non Collingwood supporters obviously. I think the answer might still be Collingwood.

Yes there was an article in the Sydney Morning Herald saying Australians were more concerned about the economy than the virus. Much like the woman I work with. Crying because the shares she'd bought after the election had gone down. Wanted to know if she'd still get her franking credits (that's...

President Trump promises to sort Covid-19 by 12th April

Bollocks. It's my birthday on the 11th. I wonder if he could rush it a bit.

I wasn't disputing what you were saying at all. Some doctors I've been to recently are taking thing very seriously. I don't blame them. I was just saying our company has set guidelines and our staff seem to me quite relaxed about testing. Although I have no doubt they are taking it very...

I've been in a couple of our Covid 19 test centres. Nobody seems that concerned. The patients have masks, but collection staff don't.

I saw that when it first came out, but had forgotten about it. Those people do some great "ADS" about the Aussie government. Even had a bit of trouble about using the Australian crest I seem to recall.

Just read this a minute ago. FIVE new cases in Tasmania. Pretty sure they're locked down now. All arrivals go into self isolation.

Update from Australia. I had to work today. I work as a courier for a medical company, not in an office. Noticed people sat outside the local pub way too close. Doesn't appear any tables have been moved. Although a lady at work said she went out for a meal and the tables were spaced well apart...

The only people near me who I ask live directly opposite. All the rest around here are my age or younger. When the whole thing kicked off I asked if they needed anything. No, and plenty of toilet paper has they had some delivered. Fast forward about 10 days and I'm at the shops and they have...

Loads of these in Australia. I don't know when they started but they were already a thing when I came here in 1990. There was even talk last week of a drive through Covid 19 test centre. I don't think it got going because of lack of staff. But I have heard of doctors coming out into the car...

I think that's why they say 20,000 would be a GOOD outcome.

I wasn't aware of how many died from flu a year. I knew it was quite a few though. To be honest I've read so many figures over the last couple of weeks. And then see them disputed by someone else. But a quick google suggests 3,500 for Australia. Given the population and colder weather in the UK...

Jeeezzzz. Just half listening to the news as I'm working. I think they said anything under 20,000 deaths in the UK would be a good outcome.

I was just thinking this myself. Along with buying power company share with all the extra power being used. Now reporting on the radio that some Aldi stores are not opening until midday. They're having problems getting supplies overnight. The truck didn't turn up, and then they have to stock...

I'm sorry I'm not following you. The bleach they use in work is 12.5% bleach mixed to 87.5% water. It's a major pathology company. The biggest in Australia. I presume they know what they're doing. At least I bloody hope they do, as I've visited the Covid 19 test centre four times this week.

I was thinking the same Clint. I might have to go to the hardware store and stock up on paint first though. The panic buying went into extreme mode near me yesterday, and from what I read most of Australia. The supermarkets opened at 7am for pensioners. My partner drove past there about 7.15...

I had a word with the girls this week. The bleach is mixed 12.5%. The bleach they use is a good quality household bleach from the supermarket. https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/295510/white-king-bleach-lavender-all-purpose

I fully understand where you're coming from. I generally use tradies I know do a good job, so not necessarily cheap. For instance a handyman I use costs me $60 an hour. I get paid less than $30. I've always presumed the difference to be him paying insurance, pension, van etc.

Sorry to hear about your wedding. But like you say @Dutto. It could be far worse. I'll probably have to put my retirement off a couple of years now. What with the stock market going down. That will affect my pension too.

I work part time casual. Usually about 32 hours a week. Last week 40 hours. I work for a pathology company. Today I have to visit our Covid 19 testing centre twice. To pick up specimens & the used hazmat suits. No sick pay for me if I'm off. I don't intend to get it though. Luckily I'm in a...
