An unusual question, just to stir your brains

I should give a try to this way of doing things. But isn't that a waste of grain? At what value do you estimate the loss of efficiency?

Lazy fermentation – Should I pitch a new yeast pack?

I monitor the wort's temperature with a Brewbrain Float device (min 17.44 max 17.75) . The setpoint of the freezer temperature controller is 19°C and from what I can see freezer temperature goes up to 19.3 °C and down to 17.2 °C.

Lazy fermentation – Should I pitch a new yeast pack?

It's the first time I hear that pitching a dry yeast into partially fermented beer is incorrect. Is this true even if yeast has been re hydrated.?

Lazy fermentation – Should I pitch a new yeast pack?

The fermentation vessel is in a freezer that regulates around 18 °C. I am not heating but cooling as ambient temperature is higher at the moment.

Lazy fermentation – Should I pitch a new yeast pack?

Hello everybody! I am brewing a wheat beer and I am facing a lazy fermentation. I wonder whether I should pitch a new yeast pack or not. My OG is around 1.049 (I aim a low alcohol beer), fermentation started 26 hours after pitching and since then, i.e. since 16 hours ago, the slope is steady at...

An unusual question, just to stir your brains

You are fundamentally right. My question is theoretically interesting but practically lacking interest. Using sophisticated software leads us to forget common sense. Your answer doesn't lack cleverness and relevance. What is important is the goal we aim at? For you it's target OG no matter the...

An unusual question, just to stir your brains

There is one question that has been bothering me for a long time. Which grain absorption should we use in order to calculate water volumes: apparent or actual? First let me precise what I mean by apparent absorption et actual absorption. Almost all beer software use the grain absorption in the...

    A short introduction

Hello An Ankoù Thank you for you welcome and glad to meet you (by interposed network). I was aware that this way of saying « les questions qui ne manqueront pas de se poser à moi dans le futur » will not be easily understood or translated by non French native speakers. It may seem a bit formal...

    A short introduction

Hello everybody, I am new to this forum and I would like to introduce myself. I live in the very south west of France. I have been brewing for around 5 years. I directly started with all grain brewing first with a 30 liters Robobrew and now with a Grainfather G30 connect. I generally do a 5 gal...
