    Bread Porn

@Hazelwood , have you considered a career in advertising? You got my mouth watering.... And I'm all out of marmalade. 😞

    Lunch atop a skyscraper.

I don't think it's as much 'Health & Safety' attitudes as it is the lack of common sense of individuals who live taking/making higher risks for either bravado or laziness. Not to mention the "I'm to good to have an accident" attitudes of many people.

    Barreling / bottling

I bottle straight from the tap. Have never used a wand. Just seemed like another expense & smoothing else to clean. At it for 10 years now and have not (yet) to have a problem with oxygenation.

    Toys.

Goodness, there's a memory! Had one of those...(wonder wherever happened to it?)

    Newbie

Welcome, Fred. You'll get good help here. And even have a chance at entertainment in some of the non-brewing threads. 😉

    Fridge for free.

If only you'd have tossed in shipping for the convenience is giving it away. 😆 I mean, it's only 5500miles.

    Come on - Fess up

Clean & sanitize everything after use each time. Some things are wrapped after fully drying before being stowed away. Of course, others not involved in boiling are sanitized immediately before use.

    My Claim to Fame

Hmmmm. As far as athletes... I went to public school with Mickey Marvin who played Offensive Guard for the NFL Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders 1977-1988. He never stopped being the country-kid I went to classes with.

    My Claim to Fame

(I'm feeling old with this....) My wife & I married at her home church (St Thomas in Brentwood, Essex) in 1983. We had to go to the US embassy in London afterward and we had lunch sitting outside on Piccadilly Circus. This Native American (Creek Nation) walked up and stood, by our table...

    Cooling wort

I do move to a fermenter (w/airlock) after it's as cool as possible. Understand I'm in the desert and 'as soon as possible' means from now until next November the water supply won't go below 85f. Plus I always use a secondary fermenter after it's beer, just to remove the trub from the...

    Cooling wort

I hope you are not speaking from experience? I have a submersion-cooling coil, but I've always found is causes to much residual material to remain suspended in the wort. I place the (sealed) wort in my fermentation fridge for a day, then pitch the yeast.

    New to the site !

Welcome, Father Kev. This is a typical crazy flock, but a good bunch with much knowledge regarding great testing liquids. I too am an ordained [Lutheran] minister who serves a small congregation in Arizona, but they don't seem to hold it against me. (Vocation or my location)

What's your fave beer glass shape?

Thanks, FirebladeAdam. Joust has suggested ebay as well. I find that source to be less fruitful for affordable/dependable quality; however, I'll take you guys' advice an look BTW:. A British pint is 20oz & an American point is 16oz. Because our powers-that-be decided in the 70s to not...

What's your fave beer glass shape?

Although they are places here (in the US) that serve 20oz glasses, they're not easy too find. And they're apparently a lot more protective of their stock. 🙄 I was just curious if there were brewers' suppliers on the web that had them.

What's your fave beer glass shape?

So let's toss my question in here... Is there any virtual shop where 1-2 pair of dimpled beer mugs could be (affordably) acquired? My beloved purchased two of Amazon for my b day and was ticked because they were only American (16oz) pints. Even though the Amazon seller explicitly said "20oz...

    Landline.

There's some misleading statements in that. IE: 56kb modems would be incompatible with current real time completion gaming technology. It is true that point is a good indicator that can be an indicator of a bandwidth issue, a local system process issue, or even WAN path being used. The one...

    Landline.

I remember those dialup games, too. However, first person shooters and other 'real-times' games require faster speeds, especially uplink speeds. Although our competitive group did fine as long as we had >45 down & >15 up. Plus if there's are multiple systems on the net, the speeds need to be...

    Landline.

I realize my info doesn't help any in the UK, but I just thought I'd comment. Haven't had a landline for 13 years while we've lived in five homes in four states. First 5 was fiber in the house, then cable in two locations. Our last home was mini-microwave to the house & now we've got DSL. We...

Covid the *** and the final stage.

Can't be 'luck of the draw', since everything's a conspiracy. Side effects are there result of a social-scientific study to see how illness can separate people and to extend the "will it happen to me" ego-centric worriers concerns to the next election cycle. 🤫. But don't tell anybody. It's...

Covid the *** and the final stage.

Thanks, Chippy, yes I'm in the wilderness of Arizona, USA. I'm becoming so familiar with you folks, i forget I'm the 'odd man out' living in the colonies. :hat:
