Hi,
Found a recipe for a beer (Fursty Ferret) I had and enjoyed a couple of years ago when visiting friends in England, and it calls for orange peel.
How and when would I add the orange peel?
Take your HD magnet and place it on a piece of paper, draw around the outside. Cut around the outline so you have a perfect paper cutout of you magnet. Then fold it in half and then fall again. Then unfold it and you should have a nice cross where the centre is.
It worked for me, hope it helps.
I was thinking it looked less nativity and more sheik or do I mean chic :laugh8:
Well I'm hoping it will turn out okay, it's my first attempt at a Bohemian Pilsner. I had to wait for our caller to get cold enough, since I don't have a fermentation fridge as yet.
I wanted to increase the yeast...
Discussions on yeast can be long and confusing when you first start looking into it. But with anything, start with the basics and at your own pace build on your knowledge. In a short time you will understand the basics, which is enough for most home brewers. Then when your ready and if your...
I ordered and received a 6-30v DC 8A max speed controller with digital display and I am trying to connect it to a 12v AC power supply to control a 12v DC pc fan with 4 wires.
However, when I connect the power supply to the speed controller, the power supply makes a buzzing sound and there is no...
+2 for leaving it alone. I have had much better results and clearer brews since leaving it in the primary FV for a minimum of two weeks, usually up to three weeks and then rack it off in to a bottling bucket and batch prime.
It's worth tasting your beer at the different stages and noting the...
I also received an offer of a free book and thought it may be a scam. I wonder if this has anything to do with the malt mill or because I ordered a book (JP How to brew) with the refunded money?
Like Dutto, I can't fault Amason for their service.
I had no idea hops grew at such a rate, but thinking about it I guess they must since they are normally grown on trellis wires. What a great idea for a screening plant......:thumb:
That should be interesting brewing using your own home grown hops.
Have fun
Hi Les,
Sounds interesting, how long did it take to grow?
And is it possible to use a smaller font
I have only been a member since May, but the help and advice is really good, plus the humour from some is histericl, welcome.
When should I remove the hops after the end of boil and should it be both types bitter and aroma hops at the same time?
Oops! Sorry it looks like I have posted in the wrong thread
I think if I had received a keyring I would have laughed my socks off
With the full refund from Amazon, I have just purchased and received 'How to Brew' by John Palmer. So I may not be able to mill any grain, but now I can read about it 8-)
I submitted an A to Z claim and have received a full refund from Amazon including postage.
The fact it was all handled without question in such a short time confirms it was a scam.
What was it someone wrote; if it looks like a, and walks like a, it most probably is a......
Well don't hold your breath!
I have passed two delivery dates and nothing, and I don't really expect to see anything.
It was worth a punt and was a bit of fun.
Very true, I also think strawberries would be stretching it :) but, there are other seasonal berries that I think would be appropriate.
As said, it's all a bit of fun and a learning process :thumb:
I think flavours of xmas is broad enough to include many different flavours, which I would image include berries. Don't the Britts eat fruit cake at that time of the year, which must include some berries.
A no-nonsense English Bitter. I'm very pleased you said that as that is exactly what I am aiming for. There is nothing like that locally and makes for a very welcome change.
It's ready for bottle which I will do at the weekend. Looks and tastes very good.
The OG was 1,048 which was a little...
