    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Hi Fil, It'll only be switching the elements during the boil, will be monitoring temperatures of the relays closely during this, it won't ever be switching the elements unattended. Beyond that it'll just be switching a small heater and fridge for fermentation. Will have a proper look at...

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Well, that's part of my other project. The two will combine into the same front-end. Also building a raspberry pi brew controller that will control boil and fermentation. Could use the temp reading from the hydro to trigger the heater or chiller elements. The controller itself will have...

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Not quite yet, waiting on the gyro's turning up then I can properly assemble one and will try it out in a brew. People seem to think it's as accurate as the cheap homebrew glass hydrometers but I'll reserve judgement until I can see for myself. Same concept, difference here is that I don't...

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Ayrshire...Moving from bottles to corney and need

Are you ever through in Glasgow? There is a place called Express Fuels on South Street (quite near Glen Brew) that does pub gas bottles. There's also M&S Fire Protection in Rutherglen that will sell a modified 2kg fire extinguisher for £35 then £5 per refill.

    Out shopping

Was in there last week picking up some bits and pieces. There were a few boxes of bottles lying about, said to just help myself. It was stuff he'd brewed for an event but was left over. Got a stout, a lager and a ginger beer. All made from coopers kits and all were really good!

Spots of mould in FV, should I be worried?

Great, thanks for the quick reply. It was pretty clear when I racked it so I just put it straight into the keg from the secondary and purged the oxygen so it will hopefully be nice and drinkable for Christmas.

Spots of mould in FV, should I be worried?

My 2nd ever AG brew (lager) and I've got a couple of spots of mould floating on the surface. I racked it today after being in FV for 4 weeks, leaving the mould behind. Would you be worried about it or just go with it as it smelled and tasted fine?

    Newbie from Glasgow

Hi all, Just joined up tonight after reading a lot of really good threads. Recently decided to jump straight into AG brewing with limited experience. Done 2 brews so far. First was a hefeweizen which turned out very well, the second was a mexican style lager for light corona-style beer...

    Fire extinguisher and corny keg

I had an old 2kg FE that's been sitting for years. Last test date was 1999. Local place to me called M&S Fire Protection in Rutherglen (Glasgow) quoted £30 to replace the handle with a screw valve and remove the dip pipe, when I went, they just swapped it for one they had previously done...
