    Wiring an itc100 vl

Here's a really quick and basic diagram of how the element gets wired in. The SSR is just acting as a switch on the live wire. 40A might be a little OTT for a 2kW element, might be better going with a 25A.

    Giveaway Inkbird temperature controller!

For the benefit of the lucky folks who have nabbed the ITC-100VL/RL, here's a quick way of finding out which one you receive. Pinch the two tabs and slide the cover off the entire unit. Side-by-side you'll notice that the one on the left has an extra relay (circled). This is the ITC-100RL...

    Giveaway Inkbird temperature controller!

ITC-100VL would be amazing. Just getting things together to build a control panel so this would be a great saving!!

Get Er Brewed - stupid delivery prices

Think the anger is slightly misdirected. Surely you should direct it at ParcelForce or whatever courier as it's them who are charging the additional rates? Fair enough, Geterbrewed could do more to investigate alternative couriers, maybe that's the approach you could take with them?

    Vacuum pack machine

Was lucky and managed to pick this up for £9.99 at amazon about 2 weeks ago - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0786XTKB5/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Seems like an OK bit of kit. Might be worth keeping an eye out to see if it appears back in stock.

Thinking of making the leap to AG

5 mins - fill kettle 30 mins - heat water 5-10 mins - dough in 60 mins - mash 30 mins - sparge 30 mins - heat wort to boiling 60 mins - boil 40 mins - whirlpool/settle/chill 5 mins - aerate wort 20 mins - clean up Just very rough approximations as I've never properly timed a full...

    WLP001 or WLP028

If you've got a spare fermenter, why not split your batch and try both? Have a side-by-side comparison to see what the differences are.

Shaving, what you use and why

Merkur 34C with feather blades. Not the cheapest double edge blades but still miles cheaper than any cartridge blades and a better shave to boot

Similar for me, I use a liquid chalk pen and write directly on the bottle. Just rinses off.

    GetErBrewed Question and Answer thread.

Placed an order today for two custom grain kits. It looks like when you do the 2nd kit, it overwrites the 1st lot of ingredients, so it looks like I've ordered two identical kits. Called them up and sorted it all over the phone. Top service :thumb:

    What did you brew today?

Did a SMaSH lager last week with marris otter extra pale and saaz. Pitched 2 old vials of WLP380 that I had in the fridge but didn't seem to start. I know, should have made a starter... Yesterday I did a witbier with the idea of doing both at 18° and pitching some kolsch yeast into the...

    iSpindel - digital WiFi hydrometer

Pulled both LEDs off anyway. Added a nut and a small bearing that was lying around for ballast. It's in with a lager now. Started at 1.044 yesterday and reading 1.042 today so it's looking promising. So far so good.
