    What are you drinking tonight.

Bugger all :(. Work on a ship for 4 weeks at a time, no alcohol. Spend my days looking through the forum dreaming of my next pint!

    Elgin/Moray Bottle Swaps

Hi All I’d quite like to widen my beer related horizons, as well as get some informed feedback on my own brews. If anyone in the Moray area fancies the occasional bottle swap please give me a shout. Ray

Interested in Moray beer swap club?

Hi Gents I'm trying to gauge the interest in starting some sort of beer swapping club in Moray? In my mind we could start off just swapping a few bottles of each brew, and if there was enough interest possibly form a club at some point in the future. I'm still very new to brewing, and...

    Cider Force Carbonation Nightmare

Turns out I was just over carbonating. Filled a couple of cornies with lager and cider, then allowed them to sit at 12 psi for a week, turned out perfectly. I had been trying to do it quicker. Need to learn a bit of patience I suppose :)

New to kegging - foaming issue

I've got the exact same problem. First ever batch of cider I'd ever kegged had been on 35psi for over a week, was really excited to use my new Blichmann beer gun, and all I got was lots of foam and a small amount of flat cider! Could you let me know how you get on please? I've ordered...

    Cider Force Carbonation Nightmare

Turns out there's nothing wrong with the level of carbonation in my cider, opened the corny and tried some direct from there. Problem must be with the way I was trying to bottle it. Will look through the forums, probably find an answer there. Ray

    Cider Force Carbonation Nightmare

I made a batch of 'on the rocks' cider which turned out ok, my problem now is with force carbonating it. I tried the fast method, 40psi and shaking the corny keg for an hour, then overnight at 20psi. After that failed I left it at 40psi for two days, but that still turned out nearly flat...

    Treating a kit cider

Gents I've just racked two lots of 'on the rocks cider' kits to a secondary fv. I'm aiming for a kopperberg/alcopop feel, the idea being to force carbonate them. My plan, based on a fairly limited understanding, is to treat them with campden tablets then clear them with kwikclear before...

    Winebuddy Chardonnay too sweet

Cheers guys, good to know that better results are possible with the kit. Although I do have a hydrometer its possible that I might be a bit optimistic when I'm reading it. Just have to learn a little patience I suppose!

    Winebuddy Chardonnay too sweet

I'm very new to this, so am hoping an experienced member will take pity on me and answer my stupid question :) I've now bottled my second batch of winebuddy Chardonnay, and they've both turned out very very sweet. I've also bottled two batches of the winebuddy Merlot, and they both...

    Hi to all from Moray

Hi Andy I'm another newbie from Moray (Hopeman), so I thought I'd put my introduction here rather than start a new thread. Very new to this, so far I've only tried a youngs lager kit, which unfortunately was so bad it had to go down the sink. I've got a couple batches of Coopers Mexican...
