    What are you drinking tonight?

My Winter Frost ale has hit it's stride; it's definitely 'doze off in front of the telly' strength...

I think i should be taking notes

Ask away, it's how I got started. The biggest hurdle is 'the fear'; "What if I mess it up? What if I make bad beer? What if my significant other discovers how much I spent on that shiny pot?" I haven't looked back and I'm a huge provocateur/worrier. I also now know how to make good beer...

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Just popping this in the corny keg. Am going to leave as long as I can to mature and clear (probably this weekend.)

    London Porter

Couldn't resist a cheeky sample and it's got the makings of a lovely porter. The GW recipe is good but I added some extra black malt so as to get it looking darker and it's still very dark brown as opposed to black. Very tasty, though. The Willamette has given it an earthy base and the goldings...

Gents, I have double booked myself and will be watching rugby this afternoon. Have a lovely time and enjoy the beers!

First Brew Day (BIAB) with a handful of questions/concerns/observations

Sounds like a cracking first brew day. Your Sundays will never be the same again!

    Kegerator build - advice please

Looks almost exactly the same as mine: like a nuclear bloody bomb! Where do you live? The Andover patio centre do the same size ones for £20.

    Big plans ....brewery

I'm sorry I can't help with the electric vs burner debate but: can I move in with you?!

Serving from a corny away from the kegerator

Cheers, Godsdog. I am tempted to get a tap that just mounts on the front but my concern will be the foam...

    Kegerator build - advice please

To echo what's been said already about the beer clarity: I kegged my red ale after three weeks in the FV (though no cold crash) and it originally came out pretty murky (though tasty.) After just two weeks it was clear as a bell, the rest of it didn't last long and the bottom of the keg was...

Serving from a corny away from the kegerator

Hello, I've been asked to brew some celebration beers, one for a wedding and the other for a reunion party. I have a corny keg and it's set up in my kegerator. If I were to get myself a picnic tap would I be able to serve beer quite easily (and what portable co2 would I need?) I would have...

How much beer have you got?

Around 80 bottles conditioning plus one in the FV that I plan on kegging as my 'house' beer.

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Blimey, MyQul; nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! 33l, Maltmiller (forgot the price) and the hop strainer does a pretty good job.

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

An enjoyable brew day after a seriously stressful week at work. Boil is rolling...

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Me too...hoping it's more of a dark brown beer rather than fully black.

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Or not. I've just got my mash on with the following: Pale: 4.2kg Dark Crystal: 250g Light Crystal: 175g Torrefied wheat: 250g Brown: 270g Chocolate:100g Hops: Willamette: 30g @ 60mins EKG: 10g @ 40 mins Columbus: 20g Chinook: 22g Citra: 5g All the 'C' hops @flameout. This is either...

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Not a bad shout, Tartan. I've chucked the HB yeast as the starter looked watery and smelled foul. Have made a new starter with S04. I'll probably go for a darker version of TT Landlord with quite a pronounced Styrian Goldings profile.

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

An enigma wrapped in a conundrum, also a total w*nker. I just meant something that isn't a clone.

Brewday tomorrow but not picked up ingredients; what to brew?

Hi chaps, I have no idea what to brew tomorrow. I have some specialty grains such as chocolate, crystal and cara red and my freezer has Northern Brewer, EKG, Chinook and Styrian Goldings (though how much of each is a bit of a mystery to me as I'm at work.) I plan on going out to the HBS...
