    Refractometers and temperature compensation

No. I use the hydrometer that I had left in the brew...... I have had my refractometer 4 points out on my postboil gravity 1060 hydrometer and 1056 refractometer. But my last brew they read the same. So, I am very happy with it as a quick and easy rough guide....

    Refractometers and temperature compensation

I use my refractometer during the mash to get a rough idea. Then put my hydrometer in my fermenter for a reading just before I add my yeast. Then leave it in. Fourteen days later. Check for my FG reading....

    Sodium percarbonate..

Hi all. So let me add to the confusion. I noticed this discrepancy a few months ago. Wilco's Bruclens cleaner and steriliser. Only ingredient is Sodium Percarbonate. Instructions say you need to rinse afterwards. The other is labelled as no rinse steriliser and guess what. Only ingredient is...

Brewdog book. Craft beer for the people. 50p

My son found this in Sainsburys yesterday. £20, reduced to 50p. Quite a good read. Beer and food recipes.... Might be worth a look in your Sainsburys in case they have it.

Have a go at simple AG

Yes. I use Ikea ZL Bags. The big ones hold 3 kg. Then put those back in the big bag the grain came in. Well not quite all of them

Have a go at simple AG

Hi, I get mine in person from Lovebrewing in Chesterfield. I know that postage bumps up the price, but just looked at website. £30 For 25 kilo's plus £7.96 delivery to Nottingham. Still only £1.51 per kilo. A lot of grain but see if anyone local to you wants to share.

    Disappearing thread?

Now a post of mine has vanished. I may be wrong but I can find no trace. It was regarding poor service from an online business. One where customers have had issues in the past, and I am now having similar problems. The content of my post was truthful. I have no reason to be otherwise. I was not...

    What are you drinking tonight.

My London Bitter. My second ever AG brew. Tastes lovely to me. Best homebrew I have ever made. My first, an American IPA is kegged, but my party tap not arrived, so can't get at it. But at 6%, probably for the best.

    venkman100's Brewdays

Second brew is another Greg Hughes. London bitter. Thought it looked like a fairly simple one to have a go at and get more to grips with the Robobrew. And it was. The day went smoother than the first. Not all perfect but pleased with how it went. Learning on every brew. Ordered a two Corney Keg...

Wanted Please. Corney Kegs & advice. Nottingham

Cheers lads, thanks for the info. I thought his advice made them sound a bit too cheap. Saw this myself, price is delivered as well. Will look at your suggestion too.
