Lost my virginity today ! Came home and my airlock had blown for the very first time since been doing AG and I had a puddle of mess sitting on top of FV ! Cleaned up and replaced airlock and gave everything a good sanitiser spray ! If Mr Hughes recipes are lively like this now see the merits...

Head retention is my single biggest weakness. I’ve never yet poured a pint that I would say has perfect head retention and I’m in a mission this year. The syringe method above is a great trick ! I’ve also got a gadget (wand) that does the job !

I’ve probably not followed recipes as much last year - but this first half year I intend to brew to recipe.

Last year - I bought very little beer other than for research. I’ve bougbt quite a bit during January as I battered my stocks over Xmas . But as of next week I’ll be back to having in house beer .

I’m a Milton man - never had any issues.

I add 1L of grapefruit juice (frozen) at flameout. Works a treat and helps to chill.
