Issue with Inkbird ITC308S - anyone else had this?

No not PID controllers, just discrete on/off. There’s definitely no integral time to adjust anyway. I have a video where the PV goes from 21, to 20 and kicks heating on then back to 21.5 within a second, there’s just no way the actual temp can change that fast so must be electrical fault.

Issue with Inkbird ITC308S - anyone else had this?

No, the fault seems to change the measured temperature to cause the relay to switch, rather than the relay switching affecting the reading

    Faulty inkbird?

I’ve had this exact thing on 3 itc308s now so will be interested to see what they say. Was fobbed off with faulty sensor when I contacted them initially

Issue with Inkbird ITC308S - anyone else had this?

Not tried that but it would be a pain in the arse to test, it occurs at random so you’d have to sit there holding the probe for a bit

Issue with Inkbird ITC308S - anyone else had this?

It’s bizarre what happens, the probe seems fine when you hold it and it will respond to temp changes but then in use it’s almost as if it’s not sampling as it will stick on a value and then suddenly step change by a degree or so and turn the cooling on, then instantly go back to set point and...

Issue with Inkbird ITC308S - anyone else had this?

Just to add to this I have had this happen on 3 ITC 308s now, the first started after 18 months or so, put it down to bad luck and bought a replacement, which started to do the same thing after a month or so. Contacted inkbird who after a short email battle sent a replacement probe (even tho not...

Yeah I would be up for getting involved for base malt, would take a 25Kg bag of MO and Lager malt that would probably do me for the year!

    fermentasaurus and bottling

if you have a co2 source and the fermenter has liquid and gas posts then don’t see why not I have a fermzilla and it works from there

    fermentasaurus and bottling

I’ve used this method, https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/we-no-need-no-stinking-beer-gun.24678/ it’s a bit of a faff to set up but pretty efficient once you get going. I‘ve only done it once and consumed the bottles within a few days so can’t comment on long term storage but worked well.

First lager under pressure - advice needed

No worries, I use co2, mainly to check fermenter is not leaking

First lager under pressure - advice needed

Yes from what I have read you can use ale pitching rates when fermenting lager yeasts at ale temp and it seems to work fine for w34/70, I do rehydrate before pitching. I pitch at 21 and keep it there until fermentation is finished.
