    Newbie Fermenting worry

Hi Andy. One of my fermenters I don't have an airlock. I just put the lid on loose and stick it on a cupboard! Never had any problems so far. The guy in a homebrew shop said it would be fine so it's ok with me. My other one has an airlock. As above everything should be fine.

    What did you brew today?

Today was a day for raspberry and lime cider and home grown rhubarb and ginger. Hopefully will turn out OK as the first ever ciders I've done!

    Rods brewday

Yes I'll be in there tomorrow picking up some more yeast and maybe a stout kit and other stuff. Was off work today so after a trip to Southport (To enjoy the fine weather!!!) Made up these beauties. The one on the left is a raspberry and lime cider. The right one is a ginger and rhubard cider...

    Busy day!

So bottled my bad cat red beer today and shoved the 42 bottles under the kitchen table out of sight (From the Mrs) just need to leave those for a few weeks at room temperature. Tried a little "Sample" and think it's going to be real nice :). Then brewed a strawberry and lime cider from a recipe...

Dry hopped. Fermentation starting to rocket

I added dry hops to my bad cat kit Sunday afternoon in a secondary fermenter with tap on. Noticed today when I got home the lid was bowed a bit. So just eased the lid up a little to let the pressure out. Also wondered what this was.

    Carbonation cock-up

I had a mass of mopping beer off the floor from my secondary tap bucket when I filled my bottles a week ago. (Being a complete newbie) And a painstaking episode filling half a teaspoon in each of my 40 500ml pet bottles. Decided to leave them in the Coopers box as not to spill sugar on the floor...

    Coopers Lager Kit

Hi there. I've just bottled my very first kit. A coopers mexican cerveza. Easy enough to make. Mixed in the fermenter Monday night. Tuesday and Wednesday the airlock was quite busy! Slows down in around 3 days. I left it in for 10 days then syphoned it into a secondary tap bucket and left it in...

    Hi all

Thanks for the tip. The coolest place in my house this summer seems to be 24 degrees. Can't seem to get below!. May have to build a specialist shed lol. My brews have moved from the kitchen table to upstairs spare room cupboard. (she's not noticed the 40 bottles of cerveza under the bed yet!)

    Hi all

Hopefully won't be empty for long!. Can't decide what to fill it with though. Bitter stout or lager
