Hazelwood Brewery, thanks very much indeed for that, I'll certainly study that thread. As in all things, the more one gets into it, the more one realises how little one knows!
I've previously used only tap water (Belfast), but have 30 litres of Ashbeck for my next AG brew, which will be an English bitter. Should I be adding anything to the water?
I'm still very new to this, so please excuse a pretty basic question. I'm just about to keg 2 x 40 pint brews into my King kegs. In the past I've just added 90gr of priming sugar, but should I also be purging the head space by firing in a 8gr co2 cartridge? Thanks.
Slightly off topic. Just bought my first KK with top tap. It came without float or cap seal, is that normal? I'm not getting an answer from to seller and don't want to cause a row if that is normal.
I took the cap off and found that the white sealing washer wasn't seated correctly between the cap and the neck, despite lubricating it it had slipped off the neck as I tightened the cap.
I have a Young's 5 gallon plastic keg with the 2" cap. How long would you normally expect to get out of one of the 8g co2 cartridges? I used one last night, and 4 pints later the keg was sucking air back through the tap. Is that normal?
Hi all. I'm Mick, I live in Belfast, just taken up hombrew. Started of with a few kits and then took the plunge into all grain, presently working my way through the fruits of my labour!
