    Plate Chillers again

Simplest solutions are the best, re-wrapped with several more turns and sorted it, even with the pressure from the ‘Zilla recirc pump running full bore for over 30 minutes.

    Plate Chillers again

Sorted all the connections, but have a small leak from the wort ports. Best method to seal them? I’ve applied white PTFE but still it leaks. Have I not wrapped enough, or is there a more suitable tape to use?

    Plate Chillers again

Totally understood, just wanted a simple explanation. Hot in one end, cold at the other, simple 👍👍

Help needed for first time kegging

I’ve never keg conditioned any brew with sugar, but always pressurise to abou 30 or 40 psi just to seat the lid and o-ring, it’s left for a day or two then burped down to serving pressure. Same should apply to keg condition too. Make sure that the lid is seated tight before the yeast gets to...

    Plate Chillers again

Yep, got that, but does the entry port of both liquids make any difference to the cooling effect. Just to reiterate, my plate chiller has no labels such as in the photo.

    Plate Chillers again

Is there a correct way to connect the water and wort pipes, or does it not make any difference. I‘ve seen a photo whIch labels the water inlet on the opposite end to the wort inlet.

    Magnetic Drive Pumps

Just acquired a Diablo pump from Angel Home Brew. Question is, which port is which? Can’t see any flow indicators etched or stamped on the housing.

    Best Cleaner?

I’ve gone the other way, big tub of Chemclean was/is my go to product, but you really need gloves to scrub items, as it affects the skin. Is PBW skin friendly? I have recently managed to get my hands on some PBW, after hearing everybody rave it about. Not used any yet. So I’ve got the option...

    Tilt Hydrometer leaking

I currently own two of these devices, one is five months old, the other one less than three weeks old. The oldest one has recently started letting moisture in. It‘s never been dropped and only ever opened up when I noticed the moisture inside. Anybody have experience of this ?

    Kegs and gas

There are John Guest inline reducers that will allow you to connect 3/16 line to 1/4 shanks.

    Ferminator First Day Issues

That’s very interesting. I don’t recall the instructions mentioning this feature. Doesn’t seem to have affected my brews either. I currently have a Pilsner sitting in there at a steady 13.9C according to the Tilt in it. Even considering a second purchase, so I can get two brews going at once.

    Ferminator First Day Issues

Are you saying that it should change fan speed ie. from 3 to 2 or 1 or just switch it off? I’ve noticed on mine that it just powers down at desired temp and restarts when needed at the same speed setting.

What kit beer are you drinking tonight?

Youngs American IPA, but I’m sure I’m about to run dry.

What happens if I don’t cold crash?

Closed transfers and kegging are still possible without AG.
