    Going commercial

Also you need to realise in the UK many pubs are tied if not to a brewery to a chain and will not be able to order from you, how many will vary hugely from area to area but round me I think its less than 1 in 5 pubs that can order from whoever they want. After you have the correct planning...

    Going commercial

As already stated the big issue is getting planning permission which has to be granted by the council and different councils may be more or less favourable to the idea. My guess in general is that in a normal residential house the might let you have a small 1-2 barrel brewery in a garage or...

    Kegerator foam Help

Here's the English from google: Normally, a full barrel begins to be discharged that has its ideal pressure (around 1bar). To push the beer, CO2 is injected with some pressure so that the pressure on the manometer remains around 1.5 bar. The surface of the beer inside the keg receives this...

Young people hit as unemployment rate rises

The 1st thing I notice on the Kickstart is Tesco, its another way to funnel public money to big business. Surely people would take these jobs anyway. Its a thing big business can take huge advantage of while small competitors have to much red tape to jump through.

    Overcarbed corny . Help !

Why can't you use a serving pressure that will not over carb it?

    Covid-19 the second wave.

He has some good points but, he cherry pics data to much. Where hes wrong: Lockdowns do have an effect, if something spreads from person to person limiting person to person contact will reduce it. If lockdowns were needed everywhere is debatable but he doesn't mention anything about hospitals...

    Kegerator foam Help

Flow control taps would help. Is this something that happens suddenly or does it slowly get worse and does it just start pouring foam or does it pour beer with sudden bits that turn it to foam?

    Kentish Dreamer dark ale

Sort of like Zephr said you want around 80-90% pale malt (for a good beer), or 50% absolute minimum (to get something to ferment). I do like alot of crystal malt but over 15% is to much for me.

    Beer Line Sanitising

If your using a 6+ Kg CO2 cylinder I wouldn't worry at all about using a few litres extra. Also line cleaner is around £1 a litre (and is used very diluted) so may be a better choice.

    What's the law

Just realised I didn't clearly say I don't think there is any law against the sale of any home brew kit to anyone regardless of age, though some retailers may have there own policy.

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Just an example of the cross information out there I have had a tab open for weeks with a google news search for "covid immunity" which I refresh most days and mainly just read the headlines and there 50/50 between, study shows there is no long term resistance, and study confirms long term immunity.

    What's the law

I could be wrong but I think all the alcohol and age law is to do with sale and consumption of actual alcohol and not production or possession of. I think it would be completely legal for a child to brew alcohol and from what I can tell no law would be broken if the child was to consume it as...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

There are many problems with the numbers we get including, increases in cases can be due to increased and better targeted tests and deaths and hospital numbers could just reflect how many old and vulnerable people have caught it. But I would note there is a recent spike in hospital numbers in...

    Fruit tree advice?

Not much of an expert here and no idea specifically of this trees problem but if you want a replacement that will produce alot of fruit in a few years anything on a dwarf root stock, it will only grow to about the size of the tree you pictured but they fruit like mad in 2-3 years. Also try to...

Counterflow Chiller - how long to make it?

Normally I would suggest immersion for that batch size for simplicity, but since you are using HERMS thats not what you want. My guess is 5m will be plenty for that batch size. I once made one from 5x3m of 15mm pipe inside 24mm pipe and it cooled 200l in an hour I shaved off 10 mins by...

Counterflow Chiller - how long to make it?

To much depends on your mains water pressure and temp. What batch size are you wanting to cool?
