Fermenter King Junior - Scary Krausen!

Your first beer from the keg will have yeast in it from the dip tube, after that should be ok. The krausen will sink when you cold crash.

    Subscription services

Agreed about the price of these things. I'm too tight. My wife has bought a number of cases for me over the years - Fathers Day, Advent Calendar, Birthdays etc. ,and much as I appreciate the gesture, I do feel they are a rip off. There are some good beers, but equally there are some really poor...

    Homemade boiler

If the cable has sufficient rating it should be fine.

    Homemade boiler

Unfortunately this 3 pin plug is generically called a kettle lead. These days it’s mainly used in pc / consumer electronics. Which don’t run at 2500-3000w like a kettle.

    Homemade boiler

There are a lot of ‘kettle’ leads for sale on Amazon that say they have a 13 amp plug. But when you read the description it comes with a 5 or 10 amp fuse. I think some are fused with a 13amp fuse, which should be ok (they say rated maximum 2500w). I guess it’s buyer beware...

    CO2 help

I would guess they are 6kg bottles. You may have an issue when you come to get a refill as most companies will only refill/exchange their own cylinders.

    Fermenting under pressure

Mine is the Snubnose so no problem there. Not had this problem. If anything I would say it's more consistent with a higher volume of liquid and the temperature measured from the thermowell.

    Co2 bottle ?

£16.50 plus £5 delivery. My cylinder is about to run out - it's lasted me roughly a year.

    Fermenting under pressure

That's good to know. One of the benefits of brewing double batches is by the time the first keg is empty the second has had a decent length of time to condition!

    Fermenting under pressure

Probably 1 pack too many, but I have lots. It says 75g per 100L so 3 packs would have been enough I guess. It would have been double pitch rate at 12C so that would have been 6 packs minimum! I should get 2 full 19L cornies - so I hope it's nice!

    Fermenting under pressure

First lager attempt under pressure at 20C. Brewed yesterday - currently sat at 17 PSI. 40L with 4 packs of CML Hells.

    Keg to keg jumper

I have one of these that I used at the weekend. Rather then remove one of the disconnects you can use a flat head screwdriver to dismantle it. I then use a carbonation cap on a coke bottle full of cleaner to force the cleaner through the pipe. Follow this with sanitiser then reassemble, if...
