I think the really important bit is that it is not too hot - you can extract unwanted amounts of tannins then I think.

Thanks what I read suggests the same and I find it so much easier so it suits me. Anyway sorry for hijacking the thread but it might be worth a go @MuckyNeighbour it really does suit my brew days. I do have a boiler I could use to heat the water but it saves me space not to which is a bit tight...

Since I started using my Brewzilla I've taken to using cold water for sparging. I've been heating the water in the unit up gradually during the process towards the boiling step but I know using cold water will extend the brew day a bit but it's working so I'm going to carry on for now.

I have 2 sets of ingredients with the best before dates about a week old so I'd better do those. Was delayed by having covid but I don't think it will make any difference to the beer it's my fault for taking so long to get used to using my Brewzilla but it's all gravy from here.

That's exactly what I use for fermentation as I use my garage and it gets too chilly in there most of the year.

Am just bottling my Solomon Grundy Gold Chardonnay - blimey it's good. I had to leave it for 2 weeks after putting the finings in and degassing it mostly due to having covid and it is so clear and really tasty - will leave it an extra 2 weeks all the time now.

I use it. I find the bubbling theraputic.

Am no expert but I would suggest it's a good reminder for people to start using precautions again as everyone has gotten too blaise about it all.

I'm on day 8 here and things are easing up am much more awake and not so tired. Got a little cough now which is a bit of a nuisance that's all. All I can say is fortunately the vaccine has helped keep me safe from the worst of it please get it if you have any doubts.

Spent most of the last 3 days in bed with fatigue. Drinking plenty of water. Not had anything on my chest though so fingers crossed it'll start to improve before long.

Took me 4 aborted tries before I got into BB. After that I really enjoyed it but I don't have it as no1 of all time like a lot do. Was well worth watching.

Just tested positive on lateral flow test so going for PCR later on. Been double jabbed since the summer. Family show no signs of it. Felt like a very very minor cold so did the test - if that's as bad as I get it I'll take that. No idea who I could have got it from though I don't know anyone...
