    Additions to Winexpert kit

I've always followed the included instructions in the kit. They all do something to help us make the wine. The only addition that I've noticed adds an obvious smell is the Sodium Metabisulphate, I've not tasted the others to see if they could contibute anything. Having said that, I did the...

    Additions to Winexpert kit

WinExpert are my go to kits. Everyone who tastes them say they're great, some aren't as "polished" as a pricey commercial wine, but all are very drinkable. I haven't noticed any twang and nobody has yet commented, but I have noticed that they become smoother after 6 months, the Australian GSM...

ispindel - Tilt, a better indicator of gravity

I've never used a Tilt but I do use iSpindels. I like building stuff, and it was the way I got back into home brewing after a long time! Does the iSpindel give you a spot on SG reading all the time, well no. Yes, I've calibrated following various guides and advice, but there's always a...

    Bath

I've heard good things from several people about Electric Bear but not tried it myself, yet! It's a bit of a walk from central Bath, but a nice walk along the river, about half an hour stroll I'd say. Or hire a scooter

    Bath

Beercraft and Brewbitz both operate from there. I've never been there for a drink, I've picked up orders from Brewbitz and picked up some beer/cider whilst in the shop. Good range of bottles/mini kegs on show whenever I've been there. I agree with @Flat Foot, personally I'd pop over the road...

    iSpindel

@RoomWithABrew It's already configured and working on a separate subnet, just need to move the router from lounge to brew area. I've already got it on a channel that nobody else in the area is using at the moment, just need to move it nearer.

    Bath

Now you've got me wanting to brave the crowds and head to Bath... Well once I've finished papering that wall tomorrow maybe I'll treat myself? Hopefully in time for a light lunch??

    iSpindel

@ceborame Glad it's sorted, it seems from seeing many posts, that the majority of iSpindel data logging issues are WiFi related. As it doesn't transmit all the time, it's not as robust at getting it's data across as most devices. For me, it doesn't matter that I lose the occasional data...

    Bath

If you're feeling adventurous, then hop on a train down to Avoncliffe to The Cross Guns. More suited to the summer, but you could add a little walk along the river to The Inn at Freshford and then the train back. As @Northern_Brewer said The Crown at Kelston, but that's a drive or bus. Nice...

    Bath

Not been to Bath for a little while, but The Old Green Tree is most definitley worth a visit. My personal go to used to be The Pig and Fiddle and The Crystal Palace. Also The Raven (John Street) used to do good food and beer. If you want something more frequented by locals and a bit less...

    iSpindel

@ceborame Are you getting anywhere? My iSpindel still drops off the network occasionally, despite adding an Access Point nearby. Whilst I can't prove it, I'm currently thinking electrical interference, hairdryer, fridge, freezer, kettle, etc. All are very near my brew area. For most...

Winexpert Classic - Italian Pinto Grigio

@buddsy Sorry to highjack your thread, but @RoomWithABrew, I'm doing it... Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal ending tonight, Brew2Bottle.

Winexpert Classic - Italian Pinto Grigio

@RoomWithABrew That's the second tab I have open... It's usually where I get my supplies.

Winexpert Classic - Italian Pinto Grigio

@RoomWithABrew For ageing, I did add to the first ones, but then forgot for the rest. I've only gone back to 2 demi-johns, one with, one without, both red, and I couldn't see it made any difference to the quality. I age in brown demi-johns with a solid cork and then kept under our house in...

Winexpert Classic - Italian Pinto Grigio

My go to (wine) kits are definitely Winexpert, I've done more than half a dozen now from the Classic range, I suppose I should go back and count? Whilst they are drinkable immediately, they definitely benefit from aging, I've tried them after 6 months and they are much improved. Having the...

Winexpert Classic - Italian Pinto Grigio

Now I'm tempted down that rabbit hole of the conical fermenter! I've read several other posts agreeing with you about the reduced losses of your valuable product, but not having to clean other FV, syphon, tube, etc thereby reducing the risk of contamination has to be a winner. Doesn't it?

Just for debuging, change the sleep time to 1 minute and see what happens, you'll see results faster.

    Gozdawa Expert Baltic Porter opinions?

Ah, I just latched on to "Porter", I don't think this what I'm after. Time to rethink and search a bit more... Thank you all for your input, appreciate the information!
