Thanks to you blokes, my first ever brew, the Young's AIPA, came out well in the end, and I had no problem with my second brew, the Mocha Porter. This ORA, though, I'm not sure of. Been in FV two weeks, SG now steady at 1008, but it started at 1048 which I see is lower than the 1060 most people...

If light is the enemy, how do some breweries get away with clear bottles? Eg. Newcastle, Badger Beers, etc.

Update: After the second cold week in the PB, I added 80g sugar and moved to bottles, which have been in the warm for two weeks, I have just tried some from the PET bottle I did (which did 'inflate'), and the beer tastes OK, it's fairly clear, but still 'lifeless'. Moving them to the garage...

Last thing I won was a jar of marbles at my primary school fete, but I keep trying! Count me in.

If I made up a spray bottle at the indicated dilution, would the sanitiser stay 'active' over a long period of time?

I asked on here about the same problem and as a result of the advice received, I have bottled the beer from the PB with more sugar to see if I can get carbonation. I did a plastic bottle at the same time so I can see/feel carbonation, and it is looking promising.
