    In my opinion today

They are a poor substitute for fried bread.

    Youngs American Oaked Rum Ale

I did this one a year or more ago. Always felt as if I'd drunk a pint of rum after one. Couldn't find anyone who liked it, even a rum-drinking friend. The only beer of the 36 brews I've done so far that went down the sink.

MJ Nelson Sauvin single hop IPA

I did the MJ Nelson Sauvin a few weeks ago. it's all gone. I do like beers with plenty of 'bite' though.

Two more new kits from Mangrove Jacks

My MJ Orange and Cinnamon had a starting gravity of 1042, started very fast, and has stuck at 1014. MJ say it should go to 1006/1008 so I gave it a stir but nothing has happened. From your experience it looks like I need to forget about it for a while.

    Holiday

Surely if 'E-passports' and their scanners were used properly there should be no need for people to look at an ink stamp? I find it hard to believe that they are not linked to a database.

    Leadership Debate

Exactly, even if Labour were in power we would still have what people are describing as an unelected PM. It's not a trick by the 'evil Tories'

    Bottling loosing carbonation

I bought loads of swingtops last year, from two sellers. One lot is noticeably harder to close than the other, and I have had some flat beers from the easier to close ones. The bottles look identical, but...

I wish I'd seen either of your offers before I spent a *lot* of dosh on swingtops last year.

    Brexit

Read this, best explanation I've seen anywhere. His reasoning as to why people voted the ways they did work on everyone I've met since who has been prepared to say which way they voted. Also pretty good on what some consider the mystery of the working class Conservative vote...

As A&E departments across the land can bear witness.

    Bottle washing hacks

That's a load of extra work so I'll stick to my bottle tree, although the FastRack looks neater and better draining.

    Bottle washing hacks

Am I right in thinking that these would not take swing-tops?

Why do we even bother with brown beer bottles?

I too like to see the beer. Easier to see when beer has cleared. Much easier to pour without sediment when you can see into the bottle. My filled bottles are all either in the fridge, in the boxes they came in, or in a windowless garage, so I have no problems.

    Covid - Plan B & Omicron

My daughter-in-law was 'pinged' yesterday, but was mystified as she has been non-Covid ill and not left the house. After a lot of investigation it turns out that she was 'pinged' for sitting the other side of the common wall in their semi-detached house from their neighbour who is positive!

Is this the beginning of the end for the Conservatives.

Temperature is a funny one, a lot of people seem happiest with cold temps in C and hot temps in F.

    Automatic gearbox

For years we have had autos in our 'everyday' cars and manuals in our 'sports' cars. 'Work' driving is easier and 'fun' driving more pleasurable.
