Froze my beer after fermenting but before bottling

I’m back to thinking of just adding a few wee sprinkles of yeast to each bottle at bottling time..... That means I’m not really warming it up to 20 degrees, just back to say 4 or 5 my normal bottling temp. I just dont want to warm it up and chill it down and loose a lot of hop flavour -would...

Froze my beer after fermenting but before bottling

I normally bottle it cold, so let it warm up and then add yeast and bottle? Think I might be best to let it warm up, move it to another fermentor to get it off the sludge as there is loads of hops in it! Then warm it up, add dry yeast, 0.5 pack? Mix it up and leave then hope for the best and...

What do you guys suggest? I’m thinking of leaving it to defrost, then sticking it back in the fridge for a few more...

Hi - my water is near enough pure water I have never added anything to my water but it is interesting what you say about astringency as I think I have noticed this before. Anyone did a Dead Pony Club clone?

Im looking at the DIY Dog recipe now and it all looks ok, just wondering if I should up the dry hop as I always suspect I wont get the same levels of hop extraction as they do..... Also the blurb mentions Caramel notes layered on biscuit malt, but there aint no biscuit malt in the recipe...

    Hops in tins

Are they airtight? I have some mason jars that are supposed to be airtight and seem so but..... we left a jar of sugar at our Caravan and a couple of weeks later it was solid, seems it had absorbed moisture so cant be airtight.

Recipe check - Use it up, American Pale Ale

Cheers, I reckon I will get more bitterness from the 1min additions as well but I have 2 thoughts here..... the magnum for the 60min buttering is a little old, maybe a couple of months so won’t give quite as much as the software suggests and the IBU is a little low anyway I feel, so a few more...

Lager fermenting at 12.5 degrees for 14 days - should I up the temp now?

I have had a lager that was fermenting with lager yeast, in the temp controlled fridge for 2 weeks, should I now raise the temp by say 2 degrees a day up till it reaches 21, then leave it for a few days? Do I then need to lager it in the primary for 3 weeks (at around 2 degrees) or can I chill...

    Recipe check - German Pilsner

OK then, lets go with 66 for the mash! WHat about fermentation temp? Was originally thinking of around 12c but just read an article ion Brulosophy where they could not tell the difference between one at 10c and one brewed at 20c! Also I was not going to rehydrate but simply sprinkle 2...

    Recipe check - German Pilsner

Going for a 60/30/10 addition of Saaz and was also looking to increase the mash temp to 68 to get a little more body? I got the last 2 packs of W34/70 but sticking this yeast into brewersfriend and mashing purely pilsner at 65 gives me a FG of 1.006. Upping it to 68 gives a FG of 1.008, which...

Help with Sierra Nevada clone and IBU’s

But when you look at my recipe I have about the same initial 60 min hops and am getting the full 37 IBU from that, so any other later hop additions are going to increase it over the original recipe.
