What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

They did start off in the 80s. If I ever went back to Burton to visit I would definitely pop in, lovely beer.

What's happened to Burton Bridge kits?

I used to drink in their pub, the Burton Bridge. The owners used to work for either Marstons or Bass if I remember correctly and they took redundancy. This was in the 80s. A very nice very tradition bar at the time.

    Black pudding

Never made black pudding. I make all of our bread and cure bacon. Maybe I should give it a go! Where does one source the blood? Local butchers? Not Tesco lol

    Kits I Wouldn't Brew Again

I made Cwtch...cloudy, over hopped (I always reduce the amount of hops it says,m and this was still way over), and nothing like the real thing. Also, not found a decent cider kit ( I hate fruit ciders so will only try apple kits.) Night just try supermarket juice cider.

    Electric cars.

according to newly obtained data by Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions which shows that between July 2022 and June 2023, UK fire services recorded 239 fires linked to EVs. This marks an 83% surge from the 130 incidents reported during the same period the previous year.11 Sept 2023...

    Electric cars.

Problem with statistics is that they need context. Can these be put in comparison to ICE vehicles? What ages were the cars? There is obviously more work needed, but the gap between development is so slow due to the manufacturers these issues will keep occuring. I wonder what the comparable...

    Bread ****

I read that and then promptly forgot in the excitement of trying the first two recipes!! I wil do that on my next bake day. Also, SWMBO has started to shout again about only making one loaf at a time...too costly to run the oven lol So, more preparedness, and 2 loaves next week. Thanks all for...

Help. FG 1030 should I bottle

I would first try to aerate the wort and leave a few day longer then take a fresh reading. If still 1030 then bottle as suggested above. Good luck.

    That homebrew taste after barreling

The 'homebrew' taste is much less pronounced than when I first made kits 30 years ago. After a break of 25 years, the difference in quality and taste of the kits is astounding. I brew maily Woodforde kits, and no real pronounced 'taste'. Often, compared to a bottle of Wherry, family can't tell...

    Tinsel Toes & Hop Pellets

Old pair of SWMBO tights, sterilised and put them in there. Worked fine for me. I also only use about half of them, I don't like too happy a flavour. Personal choice .

    Brewing kits

They only need some priming sugar at bottling. I use one rounded teaspoon per bottle, bottled in a 2l pet bottle. Old coke bottles. I don't like it too carbonated and find this gives enough pressure to carbonate but it then pours fairly flat. SWMBO won't let me buy kegs, not enough room and I...
