CO2 purging barrels/cornys. How do you do it?

I clean three or four kegs and fill one to the brim with starsan. I then connect the gas to the liquid of the next keg and purge the first keg with CO2, displacing the starsan into the next keg. Then that will be purged into the next keg and so on. One full keg of starsan to sanitise 4 kegs. You...

Equipment For Sale Bottling equipment, fast rack, bench capper, counter pressure filler and mini kegs.

I’m having a clear out and since moving to canning I have decided to get rid of my bottling equipment. I have a bench capper, counter pressure filler, around 30x500ml bottles, 12 clear flip top bottles and 12 brown flip top bottles. I’ll also throw in a flensburger and erdinger crate and...

    Bottling day done

I used to use different colours for my first pours and my last bottle. These would usually have more sediment from the keg so they where left to settle more before drinking

The Right Time to Dry Hop

For something cleaner like a west coast I wait until fermentation has finished (around 8-9 days) then drop the temp to 14°C. Add the dry hops and same as above, 48 hours later I crash it to 0.5°C for 48 hours this time as I want a clearer beer then keg. I also burst carbonate my kegs by upping...

The Right Time to Dry Hop

For a NEIPA I dry hop on day 2 (48 hours after pitching yeast) and then again on day 7. Then after 48 hours I cold crash to 0.5°C for 24 hours then keg on day 10. Never had any issues even though the original hop addition has been in for 8 days. I think that addition sinks to the bottom and as...

Finings for hop debris - Magicol or Gelatine?

Do you have the facilities to cold crash it? As cold as you can for a good few days should take quite a lot out of it. If you have had hops in the fermenter during active fermentation you will get biotransformation and that tends to keep the haze in solution. Another option is filtering. If it...

    The Biochemist’s Brewdays

The absolute ethanol I have used in work in the past was 99.999% pure. I think for it to be absolute it has to be otherwise it would be the denatured duty free stuff.

Bevie and Keg King Distributing Partnership.

I asked about it when I picked up my connect controller and they said they sold grainfather stuff direct but didn’t have an option to collect locally. Could possibly contact them and ask as it would save them time and money I imagine.

Bevie and Keg King Distributing Partnership.

Unfortunately they don’t but KegThat is only up the road at hooton and they supply full range of mangrove Jack and grainfather stuff so I imagine the will be able to get keg king stuff when it’s available.

Bevie and Keg King Distributing Partnership.

They are great to deal with bevie. I had a g30 connect controller screen start to fail and contacted them and they actually phoned me saying they’re round the corner from my house so just pick one up whenever. The main bevie warehouse is less than a km from my house.

    1st brew in G40

Put the recirc line on and blow. Never done it myself so can’t promise anything but it’s similar to people using a bike pump on the g30 to clear the filter.

    1st brew in G40

Blow down the line at the top of the sight glass to try to back flush the blockage.
