Advice on Driving through the UK

I imagine the hotels issue will be because of the champions league final in Paris

TCP on one of two identical batches

I added campden and boiling should have driven off any excess anyway.

TCP on one of two identical batches

Its basically a NEIPA so I doubt ageing would help but ill give it a go!

TCP on one of two identical batches

I brewed two IPAs a few weeks back one on the Monday and one on the Tuesday. I don't use chlorine based cleaners and use chem san for sanitising. I treated each brew exactly the same and even had the same numbers for OG and FG. The grains all come from the same bags. Hops from the same packet...

Had to actually read up on Real Madrid. Amazing business that! Doesn't take into account wages though.

Advice on Driving through the UK

Have you thought about the Ireland to Bilbao ferry? I think the port is only 2 hours from Dublin.

    The Football Thread.

I think this is a brilliant example of spending in football not equalling success. This is net spend so I think it is a better example of clubs running properly. The fact that United have a net spend higher than City is embarrassing considering they say City have only won due to spending more...

    G30/G40 counterflow chiller…

I think that might be a bit energy intense. Also you don’t have the surface contact between the hot wort and the coolant like you do with a counter flow chiller so might not get as good a cold break. Counter chiller works for me because I also use the tubing as a way of moving it from the...

    Canning Thread

They recommend you cool beer to about 0.5-1°C which I do anyway for canning and you actually increase the pressure to above carbonation levels when canning. The excess pressure helps reduce foaming. Also it takes about 30+ seconds to fill each can so its super slow to reduce foaming. I will get...

    Thatcher

https://www.josharcher.uk/blog/why-margaret-thatcher-is-hated/ This is quite a good insight to why people may feel negatively towards her.

    Thatcher

I know quite a few people who went out and celebrated when she died. I do live close to Liverpool though and she was "unpopular" here to say the least!

    Canning Thread

I've just ordered myself a Duofiller for canning to see if it makes the process any easier. Seen some good reviews online and some good videos on youtube so thought I would give it a go! I never get round to finishing a corny keg before I have another beer ready to go into it. I'm looking at...

    G30/G40 counterflow chiller…

I don’t even measure the temperature of the output of my chiller now. I just hold the tube and if it feels cold enough I fill the fermenter. I’ve got a glycol chiller so it chills to pitching temp very quickly if it’s a bit hot. Usually chill to around 25 with the counterflow with the valve open...

What do you stand your Kettle /Brewzilla / Grainfather /Brewtools etc on?

For the sake of a £50 brewing pump I would leave it on the floor!

    Kegerator woes

I can not remember exactly it was a fair few years ago when I did it, I just remember it being really simple. I didnt have to dismantle anything I dont think. Have a look on the side of the main body of the compressor.

    Kegerator woes

Yeah we did haha. Im pretty sure the relay is just plug and play so no messing around with rewiring as such. Like I said its super cheap so if it works its great but if not it doesnt break the bank. That one has a 1-3 week delivery so might be worth looking elsewhere. Take the old one off first...

    Kegerator woes

Sorry it was the relay not the thermostat! I think it might have been this one but you would need to see if your fridge uses the same one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Plastic-Single-Refrigerator-Starter-QP2-15G/dp/B07V3MM6K8

    Kegerator woes

I had a free fridge off facebook marketplace to build my own and that is a Beko one. The compressor was clicking in but the fridge wasnt cooling. I traced it back to the thermostat on the compressor. Took about 10 minutes to swap out and was a cheap replacement part. Worth trying first of all...
