Cheers for the info, out of intrest what is the fermentation temp on your copy as that is clearly wrong on the one that I have
Only one way of finding out I supppose 😐 I just fancied doing something diferent so I will make it and post the results in here 👍
I am hoping to brew the Rosemary and Vanilla IPA but have a few issues with the recipe in the book, instead of clogging up this thread I have started a new thread here. If anyone is not aware there is also an old thread on this forum which lists various misprints/mistakes that are made in the...
Hi all. I fancy giving this a go and have ordered the malt and hops that I require but when looking more closely at the recipe (Greg Hughes Home Brew Beer pg 132) there are things that don't make sense so I thought I would post them here along with what I am planning to see if anyone has any...
I just throw mine in, never heard of dissolving it first, I always assumed it just dissolved almost instantly in the hot liqueur... But there again I also use a full tablet although do keep meaning to pick up a pill cutter to make it easier to try half next time so maybe I will also dissolve it...
Just been and checked mine and I have the black clamps but as it says in the vid @Mash Monster posted yours look like the new improved version so happy days 😁 As an aside how old is that vid? I didn't know that a new Bluetooth thermometer had been released, I have one being delivered today so...
I have read the posts but you quoted @RoomWithABrew who was talking about the bottom screen lifting. I do admit that I was charging my crystal ball at the time so I missed that fact that your reply was to a completely different post by a different member so I must apologise 😬
I leave mine on and never had a problem but it is one of those things that splits opinions. Worst case scenario if something goes wrong is you need to get a refill which is around £20 (assuming you are using a full size bottle)
I have just had a look at the kegarator spec on brew2bottle and it says they are ultratap's, all you would need is a compatible stout spout, the end that unscrews not a full new tap 👍
Brew2bottle have these in stock which it says are compatible...
I was going to order the flexible hose and sergeant spray head from kegland but as usual life gets in the way and I never get round to ordering it, if I finally grab one I will let you know how it works. Or alternatively if any other members use the same arrangement l, shout up 😁
That's good to hear, I have a gen 4 and was considering trying the same thing on the next brew after hearing it on here (sorry I can't remember which member suggested it to give them thanks)
You might as well go and get a bottle of co2 as well now then you can use the best gas for the beer you are serving 😁 I use mixed gas for stouts but co2 for everything else. Be aware that if you are serving stout with mixed gas you might want a stout spout for the best experience 👍
Sounds ideal, only another 20 or so years to go and I hope to be in a similar position 😂 for now though I am stuck to school holidays as I have 3 kids in education and my wife is a teacher so the school calendar pretty much rules out life 😑
That's interesting and new to me, I always throw a full one in and never seem to get decent head retention, maybe I will pick up a pill cutter and put half in next time
I bought a kegland saber refractometer after burning my hand taking a sample mid brew (thankfully it wasn't a bad burn). I have only used it for 1 brew so not much experience but it was much easier than taking a sample and putting it in the fridge to cool before getting a reading. I cant say...
