You buy the screw on tri clamp fitting separately. Im not sure if this fitting would fit that element but my 2 inch one does. Fitting

Ah my bad, yeah its 2 inches, sorry. I think you'd be fine with 3.5kw. Controller doesn't even get warm using 3kw.
