Recommend me a low alcohol (1% or less) commercial brew

I’ve had to lay off the booze for medical reasons and I’ve been drinking beer from Big Drop Brewing. They do a variety of styles and I really l like it. I order it direct from them but I’ve seen it in Sainsbury’s. Theres also an online store called The Dry Drinker which has all sorts of stuff.

Gas escaping when adding to pressure barrel

I had that with an S30. I subsequently discovered that the particular type that I had was a dual purpose valve that you could use for a bulb or a Hambleton Bard style CO2 S30 cylinder. To change it, there’s a little ‘o’ ring inside the top of the valve which you have to pluck out with a needle...

    The art of parking.

There didn’t used to be, but they’re far more commonplace now. They just don’t take up as much room as a Dodge Ram. Having said that, a bloke down the road from me‘s got a jacked up F150. At least while driving around Welsh lanes he can probably see over the tops of the hedgerow!

600,000 demand removal of Sir Tony Blair's knighthood

I would suggest that they get drowned out by most of the headliners. Most of them are people who are getting gongs for just doing their jobs or being mates with politicians.

Prince Andrew accuser seeks evidence he could not sweat

I agree. It just shows the world that you can buy your way out of trouble.

    What did you do today?

Took the dog for about 6 miles this morning. Weather poo (again), did a jigsaw puzzle this afternoon and now I’m watching a documentary about Siberian mammoths.

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Puked up a couple of these at a farm shop in Oxfordshire. Very nice too!

    Automatic gearbox

I’ve had both over the years and don’t have a preference. If you spend a lot of time in cities, then automatics make life a lot easier. But if you’re constantly going up and down hills then it has to be a manual. Personally, I think cars are a pain in the @rse and I don’t enjoy driving, but in...

Is this the beginning of the end for the Conservatives.

We seem to have drifted off topic with all this talk of the metric system. However while we’re at it, is anyone old enough to remember the uproar in some quarters when our monetary system was decimalised? But now, if anyone advocated a return to 12 pennies to a shilling, 240 to a pound or 20...

Is this the beginning of the end for the Conservatives.

I can’t read that because it’s behind a paywall. However I’ve seen other articles about returning to imperial measures, which is beyond stupid for a whole bunch of reasons. Certainly when it comes to brewing, I prefer metric by a long way.

    TCP Off-Flavours

I’ve only had this once, and I didn't get to the bottom of it. With subsequent brews I just tried to pay extra attention to cleanliness.

Ha! You don’t need the internet to tell if I’ve farted!

Is Hockey Big in the UK?

Well I used to live in Canada, so I know what you mean by hockey and how big it is there, but I think that in the UK it’s much more of a minority niche sport. By comparison to Canada there are very few ice rinks this side of the pond. Here in Wales, rugby has a similar status and passion to...

    Additions to Winexpert kit

I tried one winexpert kit because several people on here had positive experiences with them. I followed the instructions without any tinkering but I too found it to have a ‘twang’ and I didn’t really like it so I didn’t bother with another one. My preferred option are Beaverdale kits which I...

    Re-Hydrating Yeast

Most dried yeast brands tell you to sprinkle it directly onto the wort. That’s what I’ve always done, and as others have said, never had a problem.

    Look out! They’re behind you!

    Boris at PMQ's

Good point. In recent months there’s been a steady drip, drip of sleaze, corruption, nepotism and contempt for ordinary people but there are still too many people who refuse to acknowledge it.

    Boris at PMQ's

In fairness to the Met, they haven’t as far as I’m aware been investigating ANY retrospective covid breaches. They have (or should have) better things to do. However the fact that there’s a permanent police presence at Downing Street raises many questions about why they didn’t act at the time...

    Covid - Plan B & Omicron

“You can’t tell me what to do even if it’s logical” is disease that’s been present in the UK for many years. After 30 years police service, it’s something that I’ve come across many times!
