    Recomendtion on a 10l fermenter

The OP didn't ask for advise, they asked for recommendations. You may find it hard to believe, but not every single brewer wants to buy the cheapest bit of equipment they can, every time. Sometimes other factors come into play such as functionality, appearance, feel, accessories........ I gave...

The basket defaults to the cheapest option, or at least it should in every situation.

    Malt Miller now using DHL?

Hey, Yep, I am struggling with it. Actually it is not just the technical implementation, which is proving tricky as the pricing structure is totally different from other couriers. We want to offer choice at checkout which is proven to be very popular but not to many choices as to make checkout...

    Stuck Fermentation

I would suggest your mash temp was way off. This beer given decent aeration and the correct pitching rates should be down to FG in 3-4 days. Plus:- " "Windsor does not utilize the sugar maltotriose (a molecule composed of 3 glucose units). Maltotriose comprises an average of 10-15% of total...

    White Labs dry yeast

We buy from various labs in the States, the shipping is less than two days. They are sent in polystyrene insulated boxes with stacks of ice packs. When they arrive here we take the temperature in the box, it is always under 4c and the ice packs are still frozen. Obviously they are cold stored...

Crushed Malt - How old is too old?

To brew the best beer possible you need the freshest ingredients. There is a really good reason that pretty much the whole brewing world crushes malt directly into the mash tun ( or variations of ) except in the UK. In many countries, crushed malt is really hard to get. Anyhow, at least you...

    Struggling to hit target OG

I would suggest that you have not taken into account the new seasons malt and just how different in size each kernel is. We have seen a massive variation this change over. Most of the malt, the kernels are much bigger requiring a larger gap, conversely we have also seen the opposite in some...

    Grain prices creeping up.

Yep, from really bad efficiency to a stuck mash. Either way inconsistency in brewing is really annoying

    Grain prices creeping up.

When you buy from someone who is weighing out ready crushed malt into smaller amounts at best you are going to get inconsistency between brews, it is next to impossible to get the grist correct.

    Grain prices creeping up.

Just want to clear up the VAT situation, at least on brewing ingredients, bread is a different subject. VAT is charged on everything, malt hops yeast, flavourings. Anything that is deemed to be added into home brew should incur VAT. Even items that don't incur VAT if purchased in a supermarket...

Hello, Sorry, the yeast is out of stock for the time being. However, I have made it so the yeast is optional so that the kit is now available. My choice would be BRY-97 but any clean will of your choice will be ok.

Tri Clamp - 1.5" Corny Gas In with Pressure Relief Valve

We do pressure transfers with the Grainfather Conicals all the time. They leak CO2, so you use more than you would if they were designed to take pressure however, it is a really easy process.
