    Significant over attenuation!

Have you taken the valve apart? Removed the lid seal? As already suggested, Diastaticus I would think is most likely.

It's that time again-best place to buy grains for delivery?

No it doesn't, you are missing the important bit "The same materials, (malt, hops, hop extract, barley etc), not prepared in this way and supplied to the commercial brewing industry, are therefore zero- rated" Which, if we do supply a brewery zero rated we have to get their HMRC Brewery number.

It's that time again-best place to buy grains for delivery?

I just want to clear up the VAT situation, especially for the 25kg sacks. They have to be sold including VAT to home brewers. In fact, it doesn't matter on the amount or how it's packaged. If it is for home brewing, it incurs VAT. The only time we can sell ingredients zero rated is to breweries...

Grainfather , malt miller shout out

Yes it does but there is a big BUT. It is worth us going through the whole registering process and all the hassle with the paperwork as we are selling to 26/27 other countries. We have had to register, and pay VAT in France for the whole of the EU. EU countries are only selling to UK, so unless...

    Price Hikes

@Simonh82 They weren't, no issue. @An Ankoù We don't have a basic malt as such but Crisp used to be the cheapest malt on our website. Their increase was considerably more than some others, meaning we can now supply Simpsons cheaper than Crisp. So yes, it does happen.

    Price Hikes

Hey, I do try to stay out of threads like this, it's not really my place to comment as we run the business correctly and charge the prices that are required to keep us profitable. I absolutely love my job and what we have succeeded in creating but don't shy away from the fact we have to make a...

Grainfather Conical Fermenter Pro - Black residue in fermenter

Hey, Absolutely nothing to worry about, this is krausen residue. It does manifest itself slightly differently on stainless. The colour of it will change depending on how long it has been in the fermenter, how dry it is, yeast choice and grist. Fill the fermenter with warm water and sodium...
