There's a thread discussing Brew dogs elvis juice. If you haven't tried a commercial example try and get your hands on a bottle.

    Milk Stout grain bill?

I guess you could boil it in a bit of water. Alternatively rack it to secondary and then add it? I guess it's a tough balancing act to get the right amount of saltiness.

    Milk Stout grain bill?

I would just go with a higher % of caramel malts alongside dextrose. What about the salt? Would you add this is at bottling stage? Wild beers millionaire is lovely so I too would like to recreate an example.

When to bottle up using Nottingham yeast

I fermented a beer out with a heat tolerant yeast. I split the batches and at the same temperature (28 degrees) both fermented out in 4 days. One batch was bottled and one was left for an additional 4 days plus 2 days of cold crashing. The short fermented beer is cloudy and tastes sweeter. The...

    Hello from Berlin, Germany

I was in Berlin just the other week and I think at the moment It has just the right balance of the old and the new. Certainly having Brewdog and Stone in the city has shaken things up for sure. I still find it funny that people look at you look a mad man if you want a Berliner weisse without...

    Hello from Berlin, Germany

Hi Johnny. Love Berlin, my other half is a Berliner, from Spandau. Way out west! It would appear that "craft" brewing is making waves in Germany at the moment with even some of the more traditional Breweries getting in on the action.

    Online homebrew shop

I think it's still very much a niche hobby and as such most people buy stuff online. As someone mentioned most of the bigger breweries have somewhat of a monopoly on hop distribution. A lot of people try to pursue their passion and inadvertently it ends in tears. That said if you have a rock...

    Bottles. Advice and Information.

Visit your local pub and ask them if you can go through their recycling. Wheat beer bottles are the best bit I've also found Koppaberg bottles to be good.

    All hail the Kernel Brewery!

I made a clone of their east india porter. It was great 2 weeks after bottling and it continues to get better. Must show more restraint and keep some for the future.

Is anyone brewing anything from DIYDOG yet?

Yesterday I brewed candy Kaiser which is an altbier I still have a few bottles of the original so I will be able to compare. It seemed a lit darker than the original so we shall see. I used the exact method and the OG came out spot on.

    Brewdog - DIYDog

Unbelievable gesture. If this was in book form they could quite easily sell it for over a tenner. Like them or loathe them this is a fabulous gesture.

    Rookie mistake!

Sorry I should've mentioned. The clear bottles are glass. I do have them in the dark. Would I be better transferring them into their intended vessel tomorrow?

    Rookie mistake!

Couple of questions. I started bottling my Pilsner that I have lovingly guided through its various fermentation stages, I was doing this at work (I work as a chef so my kitchen at work is where all my brewing takes place) when the thought hit me that I had everything apart from my caps! I...

stir or not to measure gravity

Sound advice. My very first foray was an AG ipa kit and I followed the instructions to the letter. The kit mentioned nothing of measuring OG or anything and to be frank I wouldn't have known what an OG was either way. Long story short after bottling it became clear that fermentation was still...
