I wasnt allowed to enter for obvious reasons. But i did hear that the same thing about a member from the forum from a certain Verdent guy that i am friends with. A mid 40's score i heard which is pretty tidy in BJCP. I would have thought you would have used that yeast and entered your coconut...

I have dropped them an e-mail to see if i can get hold of some samples and then what there pallet and 1/2 pallet costs are so i can see if we could use them in some upcoming beers. I am fascinated to see what everyone is raving about with these malts.

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

I know it is shocking. You can read the "response" or like i call it. Clever words by a PR company where they are trying the call the victim here Statement from Hogs Back Brewery on Small Brewers Relief Review - Hogsback I think this bit says it all "the maths would indicate that a smoothly...

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

So the "argument" that the larger regional brewers have is that the micros have a financial competitive advantage over them as they get little to no relief. However when you look at the economies of scale that they enjoy, Timmy taylor, Hogs Back, marstons etc the playing field is pretty level...

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

in short no as he feeds off of volume sales breweries that have economies of scale so he can hoover up discount cask beer to sell for pittance.

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

Hey Phil, yes your right. In theory the potential lower limit to true micros seems sensible. But what you need to consider, and what you may not realise is the volume of beer that is produced and consumed. And a brewery producing 5000 hcl isn’t even coming close to scratching the surface. But...

    Microbrewery Crowdfunding

Legend thank you for pledging !! We are flexible, so if we don't reach the target then the crowd will be asked if they are happy to keep their pledge in return for the reward. So basically if we don't "hit" the target you still get to redeem your reward athumb.. as plans will still go ahead.

    Microbrewery Crowdfunding

In my case, because i am a startup, i cant really offer equity as an investment (although i am talking to some potential investors atm) you can pledge and basically get money back rewards. Its rewards like, Pledge £50 and get £75 back to spend online (excluding postage) or in our tap room. Or...

    Microbrewery Crowdfunding

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

What is more ironic is the chair of the SBR “cartel” and who has been one of the main instigators of this attempt to kill of micro brewery competition will be my brewing neighbour in the town I’m setting up in. This will be interesting.....

Petition against the Small Brewers Relief reduction

Reverse the change to Small Brewers Relief. The Treasury has announced changes to Small Brewers Relief (SBR) – the progressive tax system that has revolutionised UK brewing. These changes will reduce the 50% duty threshold from 5,000hl to 2,100hl: small breweries will have to pay more duty...
