    Do you get this?

Is it hard to remove? Could it be yeast sticking to the bottle for some reason? I have never seen anything like that before on my bottles.

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

I never got that type of buckle just the type shown in the photo. I could easily drill out the ends of the rivets of those fitted to the extender and do the same as you have done but there is little point really the clunky ones do the job athumb..

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

I cannot see how it has any effect at all to the way the system operates so I am happy to use these buckles. If the seal leaks that will be another matter but I cannot see why it would.

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

So I contacted the supplier and they are asking if there is a problem as they seem to think they are the correct fittings? As I say I don't have an issue as they work fine but they are different to the clamps I have seen in other images as has been pointed out by another poster.

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

So did they send the same type as seen in the picture I posted fixed with a screw and a small nut ?

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

Not yet but as I say it is not a big issue as these buckles work fine.

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

Hey , look here, the system for whatever reason was sent to me without any buckles attached to the clamps. Those buckles you see in the picture are the only things that can be used to hold the boiler extender to the main boiler. I have thought about drilling out the rivets that holds the...

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

If you look at the picture you will see the extender fitted with the buckles that came with the Bz G4. What surprises me is that the Bz did not come with the type used on the extender. That is not to say that the ones I have had to fit on do not work. Anyway I am glad I have bought the extender...

    Brewzilla gen 4 question

Ok so I have never noticed this before, since I have never had need to use them, but the the clamps at the top of the boiler have no clamping hooks on them? Is this normal? I just bought a boiler extender and noticed that it has hooks which are black plastic coated. The extender is supposed to...

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

I have just got back to being able to brew again after having had a wrist operation. Now I did a big stock up of beer to hopefully see me to the end of my recovery but it ran out. So I had to buy beer... dear oh dear! You do not realise how poor beers like Leffe , Affligem, Grimbergen and the...

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

Personally I think forums such as this one are very relevant and once you have found a forum you like you stop net searching for information and ask questions on the forum. Youtubers have largely ran their course with regard to brewing. Newcomers want information not to watch someone make a...

Is the Homebrew hobby in decline?

Have you seen some of the half wits on youtube demonstrating their brewing skills? I admit they are not all the same but some of what I have seen borders on wierd. I saw a video of one of our merkin cousins sparging his grains while standing on a chair with the malt basket hanging by a rope over...

Leffe Blonde clone: experience of using cloves and vanilla?

True story... Auchan in Pau had an offer on Leffe Blonde buy one pack of 12 x 33cl get the other 50% off. I bought two cases, not for the beer inside the bottle as such although it could be termed a bonus ? No I wanted the bottles and if I had bought a pack of 24 empty 33 cl bottles from the HBS...

    Brewzilla 4 boiloff rate question

Well just because they say 3L per hour does not make it so. Boil off will vary from day to day and also for altitude to altitude. My water boils at 99C but a high pressure day is going to change that a little. I have a dedicated brewhouse so I have to open a small window and use a large fan to...

Leffe Blonde clone: experience of using cloves and vanilla?

It is all about expectation I suppose BUT if I could not make beer that was better than Leffe blonde I would not bother. Leffe is a name in cheap strong beer and nothing more. I would take any decent bottled British beer over Leffe blonde any day of the week. If I want drinks that taste of...

Leffe Blonde clone: experience of using cloves and vanilla?

Why anybody would want to make Leffe Blonde is a mystery to me it is pish in a bottle. A lot of sugary filtred and carbonated crap.

    Sanatiser

Something I also use just to clean my fermenters, bottles and mini kegs prior to sanitising is PURO OXI . It is cheap I bought 5kg for €23 and great for cleaning lightly soiled bottles and feremnters prior to using Star San.

    Sanatiser

I use Star San and though expensive it lasts for an age. I bought a 250 ml bottle about two years agao and still have about 180 ml left as it is diluted out at about 1.5ml per litre and lasts for ages. I usually make up 1L and that can sanitise all my bottles and 2 mini kegs for one brew and do...

Grain Mill recommendations and grain crush for Brewzilla Gen4

Yes I use the BT thermo too and it really does help. I want to try the extra volume to see how the efficiency is effected as in my opinion extra liquor in the bottom should help wash more sugars from the mash prior to sparging. Whether it turns out to be swings and roundabouts remains to be seen...

Grain Mill recommendations and grain crush for Brewzilla Gen4

I am going to give this a try when I do my next brew. I will not be changing the mill gap though because I find it works well at the gap I have so why change conditioning can only improve my flow rate? I think I will also try to raise the malt basket using the method sugested by someone who...
