Hi I am intrested I always read that you needed co2 to use corny kegs sealing the lid, more info please? I use 5L party kegs which is not too time consuming, anything to save time. Cheers

I have a wort cooler but hate wasting the water my rain water but is full so I shal be leaving my wort to cool overnight as Dave and Cryill did . Mined you in the summer I use 2 litre lemonande bottles filled with frozen salted water with an insulated jacket around my fermenter.
Hi all,
Will try it next weekend last before the religious celebrations Grahams IPa, extract brewing , with a blow off tube as the ale shoulg be reasonably strong.
happy brewing to all
Hi
I noticed your comment about leaving the wort to caool over night, I have read old books which adovcate this and that Aussie website does it as well. Are there any issues to consider?
Cheers

I have never used a yeast starter or re-hydrated the yeast, until last Tuesday, and the fermentation stopped short. I am going back to just sprinkling dry yeast into my aerated wort.
I use Mr. Berry's book homemade beers etc, to 'brew' good beers using liquid malt extract and his first steps to make very drinkable elderberry wines, which take about a year to be drinkable.
cheers all
Hi all,
I use 5L mini kegs with an hand pump, which I like and always rinse after use, wash with hot water then store with the plastic cap until I need to re-fill. Great for the weekend.
Hi all,
I have never rehydrated or made a yeast starter and brew very drinkable ales using LME hops and yeast my head taster is very honest and my mates all give very good reviews. happy brewing
