    Times for a Hefeweizen

I won't be putting it into a secondary, it'll be straight into the bottles so should I leave it an extra 10 days in the primary (making it 2 weeks)?

    Times for a Hefeweizen

I started of an extract Hefeweizen (2nd brew) on 4th of the November and it bubbled vigorously for a couple of days but then settled down. I had planned to leave it until the 18th (two weeks) to take a gravity reading and then again on the 19th to see if it's all finished up and bottle it if the...

Torrented wheat in an extract Hefeweizen

I'm going to start 10 litre part-boil extract Hefeweizen in the next couple of days but have a query about the torrified wheat that I have. This will be my first extract brew. I had originally planned to steep 250g torrified wheat at 80c for 20 minutes in ~8 litres of water (my pot is 11.2L so...

    Using VWP cleaner

I've just finished my first batch and everything tasted alright on bottling. It's a Brewferm Kriek so I'm going to leave it a good couple of months. I'm cleaning my equipment tonight and was just wondering if there are any problems with leaving VWP for too long. I have filled my FV with all...

Bottling without tap or bottling wand

When it comes to bottling my beer I have a bottling bucket with no tap and I don't have a bottling wand that I can fix onto the end of my siphon. How much difficulty will I have siphoning from my bottling bucket to the bottles? If I can get a tap fixed into my bottling bucket for cheap will that...

    Hefeweizen

Hello all, I want to brew an extract Hefeweizen and have been looking around for recipes. Has anybody had any experience with this recipe from the Cooper's website? http://store.coopers.com.au/recipes/index/view/id/31/ It looks fairly simple and I gather that I could batch prime with...

General advice for first ever brew

Thanks for all the replies. The airlock is happily bubbling away now. So wgen batch priming, should I dissolve the amount of sugar I need, pour that into the bottling bucket, put the lid on while it cools and then siphon from the FV into there? Do I need to wait for my priming sugar solution...

General advice for first ever brew

Hello all, I'm brewing a Brewferm Kriek and just pitched my dry yeast into the wort at 19C at 21:00 today (18/10/15). I put the wort together about 24 hours before pitching the yeast, should this still be ok? No signs of any bubbling in the airlock yet but hopefully will see some action tomorrow...

Flip top bottles from The Range

Hello all. I'm new here and my girlfriend and I are about to start our first ever brew. We've gone for the Brewferm Kriek as her mam often brings brings back Lindeman's Kriek from Belgium and it is absolutely delicious. Hopefully ours will be even better. We're planning to give away a few of...
