    Woodfordes Wherry Review

I pick one up for a friend from Wilkos a couple of weeks ago and that only had a 6g sachet. Don't know why coz the ones in my lhbs have 2 6g sachets.

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Yeah they did. I can' quite remember who it was that wrot to them, (chippy tea possibly) but it certainly did the trick. Originally it came with a 6g sachet of yeast and in response they said they would add a extra 6g sachet to those that were already on the shelf and subsequent kits would...

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Woodfordes kits now have 12g yeast sachets so shouldn't be a problem, but its always a good plan to have a few spares and the Wilko yeast is a good standby. Dicko

Hi luke welcome to the forum. Yeah the kit is exactly the same but you get 2 cans of malt extract, the result should be the same though. Good luck Dicko

    Coopers Devils Half Ruby Porter

Hi pete That sounds real tasty. I read somewhere on the forum that it's quite possible the ruby porter is the dark ale repackaged but couldn't swear to it. The reason I did the ruby porter and the stout is because the lhbs was selling both cans together at a knockdown price of £23. To buy...

    Coopers Devils Half Ruby Porter

Yeah. I called in my lhbs for a coopers stout and all the bits and pieces and I was given a sample of a brew he made with the toucans abd it was lovely So I give it a go myself. Just wondered if anyone else had tried it. Dicko

    Coopers Devils Half Ruby Porter

Hi all, I recently made this kit (devils half porter) and added the Coopers stout kit and it's turned out really nice. Definitely more of a stout with nice bitterness. Has anyone else tried this mix? Cheers Dicko

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Hi all. I've read through all of the posts on the wherry and a lot of people have said while its a nice pint it lacks body and they prefer nelsons revenge. Has anyone tried mixing wherry and revenge, (I mean at fermentation stage), and if so what was the results. I see it's tried to be tweeked...

    St peters ipa

Hi all. Just a quick update on the St peters ipa. I went with the kit yeast which I pitched Sunday night, (22:10 17) . I decided to use the heat belt due to the recent drop on temp and when I checked the gravity on Saturday dinner it was down to 1012, (sg1048). So will leave till next weekend...

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge

Hi all. I'm drinking nelsons revenge as I type this. It's been in the bottle 5 weeks today. It's a really nice brew with plenty of body and one I'd definitely do again. I also primed with half teaspoon and there's plenty of life in it. Dicko

    St peters ipa

Thanks jakeyboi. Just checked sg and it's at 1049 so not too bad. As I've got spare ale yeasts I'm gonna go with the kit yeast and keep my fingers crossed. If it sticks, I'm prepared! Cheers Dicko

    St peters ipa

Hi jakeyboi thanks for the reply. I've read through the threads on the kit and nobody mentioned a problem with the kit yeast so just wanted to make sure. Just out of interest did you brew it per instructions, (32 pints)? Dicko

    St peters ipa

Hi tiddlywin. The reason I was concerned was I've just bottled a conkerwood over the weekend which had stuck at 1020. After the usual attempts at trying to get it going again I eventually re-pitched a Wilko real ale yeast. All told it spent 4 weeks in the FV. Dicko

    St peters ipa

Hi all. I was going to start the St peters ipa tonight and realised its a muntons kit with a miserly 6g sachet of yeast. Has anyone had any issues with the kit yeast and if so, any suggestions for a replacement? Thanks in advance Dicko
