Woodfordes kits now have 12g yeast sachets so shouldn't be a problem, but its always a good plan to have a few spares and the Wilko yeast is a good standby. Dicko

Hi luke welcome to the forum. Yeah the kit is exactly the same but you get 2 cans of malt extract, the result should be the same though. Good luck Dicko

Yeah. I called in my lhbs for a coopers stout and all the bits and pieces and I was given a sample of a brew he made with the toucans abd it was lovely So I give it a go myself. Just wondered if anyone else had tried it. Dicko

Hi all, I recently made this kit (devils half porter) and added the Coopers stout kit and it's turned out really nice. Definitely more of a stout with nice bitterness. Has anyone else tried this mix? Cheers Dicko

Hi all. I've read through all of the posts on the wherry and a lot of people have said while its a nice pint it lacks body and they prefer nelsons revenge. Has anyone tried mixing wherry and revenge, (I mean at fermentation stage), and if so what was the results. I see it's tried to be tweeked...

Hi all. Just a quick update on the St peters ipa. I went with the kit yeast which I pitched Sunday night, (22:10 17) . I decided to use the heat belt due to the recent drop on temp and when I checked the gravity on Saturday dinner it was down to 1012, (sg1048). So will leave till next weekend...

Hi all. I'm drinking nelsons revenge as I type this. It's been in the bottle 5 weeks today. It's a really nice brew with plenty of body and one I'd definitely do again. I also primed with half teaspoon and there's plenty of life in it. Dicko

Thanks jakeyboi. Just checked sg and it's at 1049 so not too bad. As I've got spare ale yeasts I'm gonna go with the kit yeast and keep my fingers crossed. If it sticks, I'm prepared! Cheers Dicko

Hi tiddlywin. The reason I was concerned was I've just bottled a conkerwood over the weekend which had stuck at 1020. After the usual attempts at trying to get it going again I eventually re-pitched a Wilko real ale yeast. All told it spent 4 weeks in the FV. :mad: Dicko
