Huw Edwards' BBC pay increased by £40,000 last year

To borrow one of my brother’s exclamations of surprise…. “Stoat the Ba!” (He’s a very bad man, but admittedly not in Huw’s league)

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

It’s our last night in Dubrovnik. Mrs70 and polished this off on our balcony while looking at this view Back to glorious NI tomorrow, 15 degrees drop in temperature and a significant chance of some rain 😥

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

🤣 We decided to save Montenegro for another time. No one wants to leave the spot we’re in now, it’s like paradise.

That’s the lager. The 33 degree heat didn’t lend to a good showing on the flight. I’ve drank a lot of it out here, it’s a fantastic recreation of a classic Munich Helles.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Had a very pleasant tour of the Dubrovnik Beer Company, which isn’t a whole lot bigger than my garage! The milk stout was the surprise winner on they tasting flight.

Cheers mate, really glad you enjoyed it. The dark grains were added in the last 10 minutes of the mash which tempered any astringency. It really came good after 12 months in bottle, but I’m not sure how much patience I’ve got for producing long turn beers.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

After a very agreeable morning spent exploring the Old Town and touring the city walls, it’s time for some more day drinking. The Hilton Imperial in Dubrovnik does a rather fine Negroni.

    Anna's Brewdays

Lovely to hear from you again. I’m sure the Dubbel rejects will help take the edge off your canning trials. I’m envious of your chosen homeland and I’m well overdue a trip to Scotland. Cheers from a fellow Celt 🍻

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Who’d have thought that a 25yr old Black and Decker Workmate would have proved to be the ultimate brew tool 😂

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Back on the Chocolate Block. So here’s a snap of the Salsa Verdi instead. Around 50% of the ingredients came from the garden. The rest came from M&S and Sainsbury’s. It was delicious.

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

A pair of French 75’s (the garlic is for a salsa verde that I’ll be knocking up in a bit)
